SMD parts OK?

Hi all!

I've one question about SMD parts. Is it OK, use SMD shift registers for DIN & DOUT Modules. What about SMD rezistors with 0,25W.

I don't have a lot of space for DIN & DOUT Modules, and I would like to try it with SMD parts.
