sonicwarrior
Nice PCB for the LED matrix. Can you post the etch layout here?Which switches have you used there?
tatapoum
Thanks for you positive feedbacks.I used switches from Voti for the matrix and Multimec 3F switches elsewhere. I hadn't bought illuminated ones, I've mounted the LED myself because the stuffed one are too much expensive.I will post the matrix PCB later because I'm not at home. Please note the PCB is double-side and that there is not enought room space to use the pads to connect the wire. So I've put the wire close to the LED and switches.ludo

tatapoum
Some new photos were posted and I'm glad to announce that sounds go out from the 4 SID. I found a dead C64 on e-bay and the 6581 sounds like a charm. But there is a lot of work left...ludo
thefRont
i've seen a printout of the frontpanel on one of your photos. do you want to drill it yourself or will you buy the panel somewhere?
tatapoum
Hi,As I was really satisfied by Schaeffer Apparatebau works on my SEQ front panel, so I will deal again with them. The print out was made with their software, Front Panel Designer.Cheers, ludo

thefRont
looks like he has built his own psu with two transformators and some additional stuff for regulation, to get the needed voltages for the core and sid modules.
tatapoum
You're right thefRont, it's a simple PSU. I can put PCB in the forum. Here is a close-up of the PSU :ludo
experimental
Thanks! Would love to the see the PCB layout-How are you powering this PSU?
tatapoum
I'll post the PCB layout latter because I'm away from home. This PSU is powered on 220Vac (Main home power supply).ludo
tatapoum
The Eagle file is here.It is based on the Core design. Maybe 2200uF cap is a bit too low, but all boards have a 2200uF.ludo
tatapoum
Tonight work on flickr : upgrade Voti's encoder to non-detented mode..I really prefer Voti's encoder to SmashTV ones wich seems to be less precise.ludo

c0nsumer
May I ask how you are planning on doing the window in front of the LCD? Without a milled piece of lexan / perspex / glass (with a stepped edge) and some milling around the edge of the opening for the LCD, I've been at a bit of a loss to come up with a cheap, durable, attractive window.-Steve
tatapoum
Hi Steve,I don't protect the LCD in anyway. There will be only a window in the front panel as made on my Midibox SEQ :.ludo
c0nsumer
I don't protect the LCD in anyway. There will be only a window in the front panel as made on my Midibox SEQAh, okay. I was wondering, since that's the problem I'd yet to solve. I haven't tried to contact a glass company to see if they could mill a lip into a piece of glass... Maybe I should do that. (Note, this is for a non-MIDIbox project.)Or, it may be possible to laminate two appropriately sized pieces of acrylic with a cyanoacrylate glue... tatapoum
Why not to use a plate of acrylic like used for homebrew framing ? It's easily to found and cheap. You may put it between the LCD screen and the window. Glue it to avoid moves. ludo
