Hi, I know this is not the right place to put this question, but I didn't find any other place for it so here we go : Is the MIDIbox CV a CV to midi converter ? IS already tested with a wide range of analog synths ? Thanks, and please don't doubt on change the wrong place of this question.

hi; no the MBCV is a MIDI to CV converter; with the original MBCV you have 8 cv out and 10 gates

yes it have been tested on several synths and works good!!

if you want a cv to midi converter you can just build a midibox with an ain module, you put cv-inputs instead of pots!

??

to me it's one of the best things here; i have/build various analog gear, but i have midi synths too so i work with midi seqencers.

analog gear is controlled by gates (and triggers) and control voltages, what a midi>cv converter does is it converts note/on off messages to gates, and notes/cc's/other data to control voltages

so now you can not only sync, but also fully secuence and control an analog synth.

Even further, together with a midicontroller like for instance a MB64 and some extra circuitry you could even make an interface to make presets for your analog gear!

keep in mind these are different things, so i can't say if one is better.

midi to cv is for when you want to control analog/voltage controlled equipment with midi

cv to midi is for when you want to modulate/control midi parameters by voltages (sensors or analog lfo's /keyboards for instance)

and you can save midi sequences as patches, right ?

kinda; i meant you can sequence analog equipment with midi. and if you have a midicontroller wich can hold different setups (like mb64 or some seqencers) and a midi>cv you can program patches for the analog gear

but to give you a straight answer; if you have analog gear/synths and you want to control them with digital gear; build a MBCV
