controling 60 VHS recorders

I am an artist, live in Holland and want to control 60 VHS videorecorders using MIDI

another project is to control 16 or more claxons.

I want to make simple trancistorswitches across the normal switches >>, <<, play, rec,tape in

and darlington for the claxons

I was thinking to use the midio128 and start with the claxons.

my question: what do I need I want to use a simple keyboard to put the data in and a sequenser to controle the setup

Do I have to program the pic myself?

no the programming fairy does this for you..  ;)

just kidding, yeah you do this yourself. but don't be scared it's quite easy

only the burning of the bootstrap loader needs special hardware (burner) but you can get your PIC's preburned from one of the MBStores.

the other 2 softwares (MIOS+application) can be uploeded over midi.

you will probably have to configure the MIDIO128 app before uploading, but this is quite user friendly also (kinda like a multiple choise quiz about your box)

if you have a working midibox, you can control this with any midicontroller; keyboards/sequencers etc.

btw where are you in holland (near rotterdam?); i'm interested in your project
