GordTheRogue
:) Hello to all,Finally i'm starting to build my MIDIbox SID Control Surface ver.I'm getting troubles on understanding the DIN soldering and wiring work.On DIN pagehttp://ucapps.de/mbhp_din.html we could read on 'Used Components' chapter that:These pull-up resistors are required if buttons are connected to the digital inputs.(talking about the 10k resistors).Does it mean i don't have to put resistors where i'll connect the encoders on DINx4 boards?Into the connection diagram http://ucapps.de/midibox_sid_cs/mbsid_din_default.pdf i couldn't see where resistors are and where aren't... instead of http://ucapps.de/midibox_sid_cs/mbsid_dout_default.pdf diagram which has resistors drawned.Again on http://ucapps.de/midibox_sid_cs/mbsid_din_default.pdf: the last board on right side is a DIN, does it have only one 74HC165 shift register? ???If so, what i have to do with the others three 74HC165s banks? (i have only DINx4 boards)I must put bridges or resistors(which?) between each last 3 shift registers' pinouts? ???Just a comment: on diagrams .pdfs couldn't be usefull a legend that clarify which symbols mean buttons, which mean encoders, etc.?? I hope to be understandable :-) Thanks all of you ppl out thereGord The Rogue
TK.
Hi,the pull-up resistors are also required for rotary encoders. For the last DINX4 module, you don't need to stuff the unused 74HC165, so long R33 is connectedBest Regards, Thorsten.
GordTheRogue
:D Thanks for the quick answer!!Talking about last DINx4, i understood to don't stuff 3 shift registers but: 1)Have I to stuff one shift register and near R1 to R8 resistors, included R33 right?2)What about others resistors (R9 to R32)? Do i have to stuff them? Also R34 to R36?Thank you again :-) Gord the Rogue
TK.
To 1) yes, to 2) you don't need to stuff them for the "DINX1 functionality" (compare with the mbhp_dinx1 schematic)Best Regards, Thorsten.
