bill
Hello again.I'm looking for base concepts and ideas to write an arpeggiator.I did not start writing anything, but looking for knowledges around this.My first idea isto have a 16bytes buffer, (maybe 8 is enough as we only have 10 fingers)to count (i) the notes on, and fill this buffer with notesbrowse the buffer playing the notes to i;refresh i and the buffer on notes off.then, try different 'browse' algorythms....Does anyone want to help me ? :)
stryd_one
Hey man how's the arm?You might want to think about note order and priority going into and out of the buffer. We only have 10 fingers, but what if it's a holding pattern where you keep stacking on the notes? :) And if it's going to be a dedicated arp, then you should have plenty of memory so what the hey.Have you seen the Kawai K5000 arp? That thing is kickass, definitely a good model to work from.Did you have that sequencer thing on the go still, or should I go ahead?
bill
I'm going better, now that i can use the computer keyboard ;)I will start with a 16 notes buffer, it wont be difficult to change it's size later...For the sequencer tutorial, it's ready, i just have to send the sample code, i'll do it this evening i promise.I dont know the Kawai K5000, please could you describe how it works ?[i just found this http://gregwaltzer.com/egw/equipment/k5000arp.htm]
