8 Channel A/D ADAT

Hi...

I while back i was wondering about the possibility of making an 16 channel a/d convertor that has 2 adat out's with s/mux capability. I posted a query on another board and got an answer that made it seem pretty easy to do - use the ADC of your choice and then Alesis' AL140x chip to get the ADAT encoding. Not too tough technically. The only thing that gets me is the s/mux issue, cos as ur routing inside the stereo pairs u'd have to get pretty fancy on the digital side with some logic programming (to route the 8 muxes). I guess a PIC would be ideal for this, but I don't know a thing on logic programming ;p could anyone with this knowledge lend a hand - is it an epic coding thing or a simple afternoons work for a peep who knows??
