grif
will MIOS support a midibox seq similar to the doepfer schaltwerk or the genoQs octopus?I count about 218 digital inputs and 200 digital outputs on themmy main questions are...is it even possible to have more than 128 digital inputs on this sequencer project?and if so are are these assumptions correct?I'm assuming I would need more than one core and something like 8 DIN boards and 5 DOUT boards...I'm also assuming I would need to extensively edit one of the setup*.asm filesam I missing anything? MRE
Assume you will also need to cut 418 holes! ;)
stryd_one
will MIOS support a midibox seq similar to the doepfer schaltwerk or the genoQs octopus?I count about 218 digital inputs and 200 digital outputs on themThe OS (MIOS) will, but someone would have to write the applicationis it even possible to have more than 128 digital inputs on this sequencer project?Yes, you can use a matrix, but you'll need some programming skills, nothing of this nature has been attempted as yet with TK's sequencer.I'm assuming I would need more than one core Possibly, although this would be more about utilisation than IO restrictions.and something like 8 DIN boards and 5 DOUT boards...Nah, use the matrix :)I'm also assuming I would need to extensively edit one of the setup*.asm filesSorry mate there's a lot more involved than that.... You'd need to make major mods to the application's control surface code. There was a rumour of a button matrix like the monome for the upcoming version of the seq, but that is not released, and it will be ready "when it's ready" :) But if yuo pay attention yuo may catch some teasers ;)

ChrisR
Hi there, I know this is an old thread but I'm interested in this idea as well. I currently use a Doepfer MAQ 16/3, Sequentix P3 and Analogue Solutions Europa I've also been playing around with the Beat707 Arduino Shield and re-programming it a little. I want to build my dream drum sequencer that will hopefully look something like this... I was initially thinking I would build it based off an Arduino board but now I've discovered Midibox I'm wondering if this would be a better route. Anyone got any thoughts on this or any other helpful links/info?
