40x2 LCD hole dimensions?

I would think it is a standard dimension like on others of the same size, but I'm not totally sure. You could compare data sheets with another brand of the same size and maybe figure it out that way? Or, If you already have the display you could measure it out. It may be hard to get it totally accurate though...

Somewhat obvious info but it might help?

yeah thanks man. i was looking at the matrix orbital ones, but their datasheet only gives outer dimensions of the pcb, not hole positions. if they're standard, then that's ok, as there are others out there that give full dimensions. i'll probably end up buying them and measuring them.

cheers.

Hi Mr modnaR,

were you thinking of this one by any chance?

http://www.matrixorbital.com/product_info.php?pName=mosal202cxr&cName=lcd-mos-character-lcds

Looks very like the disappointingly-pink red neg one I got form the States

http://www.crystalfontz.com/products/2002a-color/index.html#CFAH2002ARMIJP

When it came the background was pink, rather than black. It looked quite nice anyway, actually. Until I fried it... :(

You might want to find out if anyone else has used the one you're thinking of, as the pics can be a bit deceptive.

Incidentally, were you planning to try and find a UK supplier for these? Some of these companies have a high minimum order, I've noticed too.

Cheers,

Alex

no, i was looking for two 40x2s:

http://www.matrixorbital.com/product_info.php?pName=mopal402abyfy&cName=lcd-mop-character-lcds

for the MBSEQ.

the one you listed is a serial LCD, not parallel, and as such won't work with midiboxen unless you're clever with the old programmerating.

yeah i got the same 20x2 negative red lcd as you i think from crystalfontz. i was disappointed too.  :'(

all the uk suppliers bump the prices up tremendously. matrix orbital seem to be pretty good. i'm sure there are cheaper though.

cheers.
