notstrom Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 Hello comunity,I am new to all this and I am no electronic-guru.I would like to have the complete surface with only one SID but after reading the documents I can´t find the answer. Is it possible?Does it make sense?Maybe I would upgrade to 3 slave SID´s but first I want to have an impression.Sorry, for asking stupid questions.Cheers Quote
Ixox Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 Yes it is possible.Nothing special to do.Put one core, one sid module and all the required DIN and DOUT.The Link button as well as SID1, SID2,SID3 and SID4 buttons will not be very usefull, but you'll need them if you upgrade later. And yes it makes sense. Less voices but full control.Xavier Quote
notstrom Posted September 27, 2006 Author Report Posted September 27, 2006 Thank you,I already guessed the link buttons are for multiple SID chips. Now I can go on and stop worrying.Hein Quote
Wilba Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 It may not be obvious until you build the control surface, that to trigger the playing of a "303" sequence (or other sequence, or just play a test note) you need to hold down one of the SID buttons and then press the menu button to toggle playing on/off. So if you're planning a full CS with only one SID ever, you might want to add a button for this feature. The best solution is just build it assuming you will one day put in 3 slave SIDs, because once you have one going, you might feel the urge for more... ;D Quote
