Natural_demon Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 i'm trying to make a midi CV converter for a single Drum module of the known analog .....i wanna make a bassdrum (maybe i add a clap too) only and i need a litle help with the design and programming.i wanna use pic18f1320.i did some projects with a pic16f84A and made some light effects with it, like knightrider, ect, ect.but this is something totaly different, this includes serial data.what i would like to know is, is the port configution good?i have check the datasheet of that particlair pic.i think i'm good now.this is the second try, because i found out the MCLR only acts as input.i would like to know your opinion about this schematic.would u do it different?the problem is more or less the double functions the pins have.should i leave the the XTAL out and use it as I/O pins?, so i don't have the split on portB for driving the Latch (74hc174).it only needs to trigger 1 drum sound.thanks for your time.Kind regards,NDp.s. i know it aint midibox related, because the device used in it is to big for my needs and i don't need to drive a LCD, i just wanted fastes latency possible.more readable format herehttp://209.35.198.6/mini_midi_CV_trigger.pdfeagle file, for those that can advice me improvements.http://209.35.198.6/mini_midi_CV_trigger.sch
Sebo Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Hi:I can't help you, I'm new with digital electronics. But I'm buildingsome drum modules and I want a MIDI to drum converter too.I was planing to build the MIDI to drum part of the TR-9090 project,a clone of the TR-909 made by Trevor Page (I buyed a kit from him),to use with the drum modules I'm building.Check the schematics at his site (http://introspectiv.org/). May be thatcan help you.Sebo
