toneburst
I'm thinking of using a joystick as an assignable controller on my MBSID. Would something like this be up to the job?http://onecall.farnell.com/jsp/endecaSearch/partDetail.jsp?SKU=1148304I guess I'd need an AIN board too, since it's resistance-based, and I don't know how I'd tackle to MIOS setup side of things.Any thoughts, anyone?Alexhttp://www.toneburst.net
moebius
Yup,It looks like a great candidate. As far as I remember, there is no need for AIN board as Pins used for analogue inputs in the PIC are not in use by standard MBSID application.Use the Forum search and You should find detailed instructions how to add Joystick to the MBSID.Moebius

AndrewMartens
In case you didn't find them, these two threads were all I needed to get my joystick working:http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=5708.0http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=3375.
toneburst
Thanks again guys,I'll look through them. Think I'll add the joystick to my next Onecall order then.Cheers,Alexhttp://www.toneburst.net
AndrewMartens
Just rereading your original post here, doing an assignable joystick would be a lot more effort on the software-support side. You can also probably find a cheaper joystick at surplus somewhere else (I think I paid about $1 for mine). That said, the previously-mentioned links worked fine for doing a fixed cutoff/resonance setup.
