Sorry 'Speak & Spell' ;)

Anyone thought of/tried controlling any of the old Texas Instruments toys from a MBCore? I have no idea if such a thing would be possible, but I'm be intrigued to know if anyone has considered it. Maybe something like the MBSID board would be possible, whereby the main chips of a one of the toys could be rehoused on its own board and controlled by a MIOS application. Something like the MIDISpeak board John at highlyliquid.com makes that allow individual phonemes and vocal fragments to be accessed from the ROM would be very cool, + the option to create glitchy circuit-bent-type noises by sending spurious data to the controller chip.

It's all pie-in-the-sky stuff, but anyone any thoughts?
