sexxy_marvin Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 I am using the schematic for the "optimized" PSU and noticed that the LED has 3 pins? I have some LEDs lying around, but they are 2 pin. Can I use these somehow? If not, what kind of power LED do I need? Thanks!
Mr modnaR Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 the middle pin is ground, and the other two are +5VDC, connect the cathode of the led (usually the pin next to the flat on the led itself) to ground, and the Anode to either of the other two pins.
pay_c Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 Do NOT connect it directly, there has to be some resistor (appr. 220 Ohm) in row with it.
Mr modnaR Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 yes, sorry, i was taking it that he was building the optimised PSU which has the 220 resistor in the design.
