jaywar Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Hey all... got the core working fine, the LCD seems to be acting a little strange. I'm using this LCD: http://www.crystalfontz.com/products/2002a-color/index.html#CFAH2002ARMIJP And when I wire it correctly, the back light lights up, but with only the solid characters across the top (as if MIOS was not installed). When I remove the backlight power wires, it works fine—I can see the "Ready." but no backlight. Any ideas on what to do? I'm using the core from SmashTV (BSL 1.2 and MIOS 1.9c). ??? Quote
stryd_one Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 That sounds like not enough power, maybe it's locking up... either that or a short that only takes effect when the LCD is connected...I'd maybe double-check my soldering and connections and then try more power. What's the power rating at the moment? Quote
jaywar Posted February 1, 2007 Author Report Posted February 1, 2007 I'll try those suggestions, thanks. Right now I'm using 9v from an AC wall wart (800ma)... but it's got variable outputs so I'll boost it up to 10v and see what happens. Quote
jaywar Posted February 2, 2007 Author Report Posted February 2, 2007 :D Worked like a charm—all it needed was a little more juice! Thanks! Quote
stryd_one Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Ah we like when that happens :)Thanks for doing the troubleshooting, those displays are quite common, so it's nice to have a documented note about their power requirements in the MBHP. Quote
