Guest PHX
Hi All,First of all let me express how much I'm impressed by Thorsten's hard work : it took me so much time to build and troubleshoot my MidiBox and my brand new SIDBox, that I can't imagine how many nights Thorsten is working on designing and coding these masterpieces !!! Great job !!!I've been playing with the JSynth GUI using the latest 18F452 SID firmware. Most of the parameters and sliders have a direct effect on the sound....except the one related to PWM....(or at least I can't hear them). Could it be a soldering issue ? (I doubt...) or there's a trick I should know about PWM on SID and how to use it ?Also I was wondering if the SIDbox was multitimbral ? I noticed it can be polyphonic but I didn't find how to allocate 3 different sounds at the same time ?Thanks a lot,Richard
TK.
Hi Richard, thanks for the nice words :)PWM works only with the pulse waveform, maybe you've selected saw or triangle, therefore you won't hear an effectMultitimbral: there is an undocumented feature which allows you to play the SID in this mode: when you look into the sid_presets.inc file, you will find three different MIDI channel settings named EEPROM_V1_CHANNEL, EPPROM_V2_CHANNEL, EEPROM_V3_CHANNEL. When you change the channels to different values, you are able to play the oscillators independentlyHave fun! :)Best Regards, Thorsten.
