gillesdeshays Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Hey TK ,why don't you put a CHAT on the Ucapps.de ??It can be really cool !!!Gilles Quote
pilo Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 That's a VERY great idea! an irc chan maybe??? Quote
smashtv Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 Try this http://mbhp.coinoptech.com/chat.html and let me know what ya think. It is also accessible via a standard irc client via the link at the bottom of the page.BTW: this will make your firewall go nuts, it's just doing the ident and other stuff required by irc servers these days.See ya there!SmashTV Quote
pilo Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 hhuuummm I'm on it but I'm alone!I'm on channel #midibox... I hope someone is coming this morning :) Quote
Guest Xcen Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 I think I need to install Java :) Must've forgotten to do that on last reinstall Quote
Nomical Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 A chat takes the focus of the forum and will end in useful info missing, because it was discussed on the chat. It would mean the end....... Quote
smashtv Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 A chat takes the focus of the forum and will end in useful info missing, because it was discussed on the chat. It would mean the end.......I completely agree, thats why the chat should just be used for casual conversation between Midiboxers that does not really belong here in the forums. Mix techniques, studio management practice, stuff like that. :)SmashTV Quote
pilo Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 Yes! it's true! But we can also speak about something else! Our lives ect... I'm very interested in meeting other midiboxer ;) Quote
smashtv Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 A Midibox "meet and greet" is the idea. :)Met up with Rowan there last night for a great chat about everything but the box. ;)See ya thereSmashTV Quote
Nomical Posted June 14, 2003 Report Posted June 14, 2003 Very nice!Luckily, i'm not the only one who thinks the same way about a chat. But as others have mentioned, it's also nice to chat to some fellow diy people, as long as the real midibox talk stays on the forum. Quote
Guest Flownezz Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 If we start a channel on efnet i can prolly get a bot for it if anyone is interested. Quote

smashtv Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Well i would like to go on the chat page but my pc spews chunks when I go to it. I have java enabled too. :'(IanHeya Ian!You can always use a real IRC client, and point it at 64.246.18.104 port 7182. Then a /join #midibox will get you there. :DThe java thing is mainly for those new to irc, but it is a real irc server that it connects to.See ya there!Smash Quote
Guest Flownezz Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 I find the IRC client in trillian (www.ceruleanstudios.com/) to be simple and effective, plus i supports all the other IM protocols like MSN, ICQ and AIM... PS: I'm at #midibox right now if anyone wants to chat:) Quote
Ian_Hurlock Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Thanks BenGot that going....now no one wants to talk :'(Ian ;) Quote
