FLD Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 I was thinking ways to make a cheap front panel while i was etching, and i had this idea that what if you spray a photosensitive layer (POSITIV 20 for making own PCB:s) to a cheap metal panel. Then expose&develop it and etch the text. And you could spray it with some black spray paint and wash the photosensitive layer off with alcohol. Has anyone ever tried this? Is there anything that prevents you doing this? ::) Quote
stryd_one Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 I think that method has been discussed here before, as a result of the stompbox crowd doing it... Quote
Jidis Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Yeah, Robin (RTurner) was coaching me on muriatic acid etching a while back. I like the etched aluminum look a lot, and will hopefully be doing some soon. Very durable. :)Here's a couple threads:http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=8108.0http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=7775.0(you may have to get toward the end to see the metal pictures)GeorgeBTW- Stryd has the link to that stomp box tutorial site (http://aronnelson.com/gallery/album24) in Artesia's thread.
