Aperture in panel for GLCDs

hi

this is for those ones who s already made cnc front panels with GLCDs:

if you have a GLCD in a 1.5mm front panel with a 3mm acrylic window, how will be make the aperture for the display: same as the display s screen as in the datasheet or slightly bigger and if bigger how much bigger?

... you have to calculate the parallax depending on the angle your display will have to your eyes in your most regular working positions. - You can use the Pythagorean theorem (... happy pythagorasing...eeehhhm calculating  ;))

    ehhmm...

...will the acrylic screen deflect on some angle the view?

(yes it does i have a little piece here and i ve tested it right away, i can see it will deflect about 1-1.5mm from the real position, that s good!! )

..i think i will give it a 2 mm extraand have nice roundish corners
