Log or Lin pot?

Hi,

Can someone tell me whether I should use a log or a lin pot when using an LCD to vary the display brightness?

I can't see the connection to Midification yet - Parts Questions would've been the right forum section.

Anyway, all pots used for Midiboxes are usually linear. But as the brightnes/contrast adjustments normally are done only one time, a log pot wouldn't be much of a problem, just a little bit annoying for fine adjustment.
