  1. yea i've been checking. oh sweet. I do have access to a mill that uses eagle thankfully. Just looking to revamp my old boards as it's been like 5 years of wear n tear and upgrading housing plus kinda want to make a second one for a friend. There should be a midibox for everyone kickstarter project where we produce more parts than anyone would ever need to make sammiches and midiboxs. Leave no nerd behind.
  2. Looks like the smash TV shop has ramped down inventory and sammich kits are long gone. Anyone know where to get new Midibox SID V2 kits or the successors even or has no one stepped up to sourcing these anymore?

  4. So I had this problem and fixed it with the 1k resistor going from D3 to a 5V+. My midibox was shorting out so I was going through re doing some solder joints including the 1k resistor and now it's back to it's reformatting old self. The Diode appears to be functioning according to my multimeter. It's the Core_R4D board btw. I should also note, it's only formatting Bank G and the Ensembles. usually the ensembles. I got new diodes and resistors for it. If that does the trick I'll be at ease otherwise I'm clueless.

  7. Interesting, the midibox FM did a fine job at making it 6 voices then. Playing with adlib tracker 2 I noticed this MIDI issue with the MPU-401 cable. If i played the notes with a normal computer keyboard It had no problem keeping up, in 18 channel 2 op mode I'm pretty sure i heard every channel. Midi mode was channel to channel. I wonder what they did to make the computer keyboard perfect at polyphony in preview modes.
  8. YES! The only thing I can add is, please make the stereo mixing midi controlled. That 18 channel + optional mixed mode is brilliant. I would love to see that with the AOUT modification. This will make Adlib tracker 2 obsolete to me.
  9. I'd be interested in that CAD file if you still have it. Have access to a laser cutter and lots of C64 cases to work with. :D
  10. Basically, MIOS needs to be rewritten from scratch and the whole user interface will need to be reassigned/redesigned. The source is included with MIOS. Let me know how it turns out! I just went on to working with a SB16 Adlib Tracker 2 and ancient MPU-401, though the Midibox version is still fun to toy with and more portable too.
  11. I've been scouring the internet. I don't think anyone's touched the sega saturn's YMF292 SCSP. The only ways I've found for people to do anything with this chip are mario paint style games or if you buy Sophie (saturn dev kit) from ebay for 600 bucks. Surprised no one's pulled the chip or written a music controller/sequencer program. There was a Japanese game that was basically piano hero that came with a midi interface, but no music creation or sound controls.

  13. I just recently discovered trying to control the Audio routing via CC parameters does not function. Is this common for everyone or may it just be Renoise which I'm using to control it with? I've tried the voice CC with no success. I understand the ensemble cc's are only functional with Sysex.
  14. I got my sammichFM second hand so I didn't get to build it, but I looked around on the board and didn't see anything obvious to setup an AOUT module to add a filter. I'm sure it could be customized, but I thought I'd seek pro tips on if AOUT's were planned ahead for with the sammichFM.
  15. Thanks I just got that. I saw in the wishlist a multimode instrument list to switch instruments on the fly. That makes me very excited because trying to sequence anything in MSSIAH with a joystick or digital converted mouse is like trying to bite your own ear, for hours on end.
  16. So playing with arpeggiations with gate length maxed out it plays back just fine. When I shorten it, it starts to miss a step or be off a step every so often. I also noticed when playing back some SID files like platoon it will do the same thing on some of the arpeggiated parts. It must be my build or something. Has anyone else experienced this?

  18. Has anyone tried to make custom MIOS edits to add a few MIDI CC parameters to multimode? It's my favourite mode on the beast and would love to run it with some PW and filter effects automated. Guess I could try playing with the script, but I'm a n00b.

  20. here's three, Filtered poly is just a slight tweak on the original BassSnatch is two sequences split between left and right SID channels with 5 presequenced bits Big Black is a nice heavy sounding bass and snare with the drum line from big blacks bad houses meant to be played around 50 bpm enjoy! couple custom.zip
  21. Panel link is dead. The stock patch banks you guys made won't load in the mios studio or patch turkey or any other patch librarian i've found, says the banks are corrupt as they are not the proper length.   22. I was curious after looking up the data sheet on opl3 and think 18-channels would be amazing for using with dosbox or adlib tracker II. Since MIDI is only 16 channels though I wonder if you could do 2 4ops and 12 2ops for 14 channels or 1 4op 14 2op and drums for all 16. After playing with yamaha 2op keyboards from the 80's I realized even 2ops can do a lot and using the General Midi compatibility in dosbox gives game soundtracks a crazy new spin as i've played around with on the sammichFM. Will have to try the LPC17 build someday.

  24. So This is a new issue for me. It wasn't doing this before. I have a midibox v2 with minimal button interface. The multi/drum engines work just fine everytime i play a note the note plays, stereo and mono works. The lead/bassline engines though are taking two note strokes to play each note and won't cutoff the first note to play another unless tapped twice. I thought maybe it was a midi controller clock conflict, but now it's doing it with my PC too. Gonna try reinstalling the main SID V2 application and see if that helps. Opps nevermind, I am special, it was the SPV setting. SO MANY SETTINGS!
