Hi, i have finished my second Core Module, but when i test the basic voltage, the Pic2 test fails. Any idea where i could have messed up? I don´t see any shortcircuits or somethinge like that :/

Anybody has any idea?

Ok, i made Midi Test 2, and there was no Loop Back. Does that mean, that my Core is damaged? The LED from OUT Test 2 did not flicker, too :/

Well i guess, than it should be the PIC, as the Module allready worked fine :/ I will take a shot look this evening, if i find any bad soldering on the crystal, but i do not think, that that is the problem...

I have Mios 1.9 installed, the latest version. As i allready said, it used to work :/ Right the moment after i plugged in the Buttons, nothing worked anymore. These are my Testresults: PC1 : worked Mid1: worked Mid2: Cant remember anymore, but i think it worked Out1: Does not send upload request Out2: Did not flicker Core1-9: everything as expected (i´ve checked it, even though it allready worked once...) Core 10 & 11: No Messages ok, that is a result, but did not help me a lot... I am not much of a electronic geek :/

Hi, it´s me again ;) I finished the troubleshoot guide without any results. What is more likely broken? Some Parts of the Core-Module or the PIC? Maybe i have messed up he bootloader or whatever. I am about to buy a new Pic to test it, but if the Core Module is more likely to brake, i would try to replace that first... What do you think?

Nobody has an idea? :*( I don´t want to waste this money :/

Hi, i have a problem with my midibox. The Controller worked and i have used it once in Traktor (only with one button to test it). When finished my solferwork by connecting all other buttons, i did not receive any midi message in midistudio. I realized, that i plugged in the DIN module reverse :/ I hope i did not burn anything... Whatever, troubleshooting did not help a Lot. The LED did not flicker when i made the midi out test, but all the 5v tests for the core tests worked out fine :/ I only left out the Midi In tests, because the troubleshooting guide did not tell me to do so. But as I said, my CoreModule allready worked and i was able to programm it :/ What else can i do? Anybody has an idea what i could have messed up? Burned the Pic? Simon

I don´t have it here right now, but i am pretty sure, it has the power. I usually power up my S4 with this thing. But is there a chance, that i have to much volt? I think, i read something, and i think my PSU has 9v-12v...

Update: The Din Module works. I´ve installed the ain64_din128_dout128_v2c. Now i only have to solder the ain/dout modules and then i am finished. But the LCD Doesn´t work yet :/ Would be nice if i got this to work, as I paid 10€ for it... Any Suggestions?

ok, i´ve "narrowed it down". The heating up came from the fact, that my DIN module was pluged in reverse. I changed it--> the IC3 doesn´t heat up anymore. I also loaded up the MB64 hexfile, it said 179 errors that has been fixed (no issue). Whatever that means. But it was uploaded without any problems. Now, as i understood this right, the MB64 should be installed and my buttons/faders should work properly. The standardmapping but they should work. Well the one button i have solderd to the DIN Module does not send any midi. Also, if i shortcut ground and a button, shouldn´t i get a midi message? My Questions are now: How can i Test, if my LCD is burned? How can i test, if my DIN Modul is damaged? How can i test, if i have a shortcut on the core Module, or if everything is soldered properly? (Can that be an option? I thought, installing MIOS is a proove, that everything is soldered the right way?) Would be cool, if somebody helped me out, i am not much of electronic geek, and apart from the docu, i can´t do so much :/

Ohh, i just realized, that i soldered a 220 res on a place, where a 1,2k should be.... That was R6.... How can i check, if i have burned everything? :/ edit: oh no, wait, i put the right resistor there, i am not used to the color codes yet... i also left out the bridges on the back, should not be a problem, as the MB64 does not use SID and stuff. edit2: "Also the polarity has not to be taken into account." from J1 means, that i do not have to measure, where my plus or minus pole on the power input is? I just thought, maybe that is the problem...

And i am pretty sure, i´ve soldered something wrong. I just touched the IC3 and burned my finger really hard ;) I had this once too, but that was when i had a few shortcuts on my lcd wireing and i thought that was the reason. But it looks like it allways starts to heat up, when i plug in the power.... But why can i upload mios, if i have a shortcut or something like this? Can that be the solution for my lcd problem?

Hi, i want to use some rgb leds in my project. I am now trying to understand how the AOUT Module fits for this. As the RGB LED needs 3 Analog inputs, i think the AOUT is not usable for this. On google i found some sites for DIY RGB Controller, but as i am not much of a electronic geek, i don´t know how to apply one of these to my midibox. Did not help, i wired it that way... But when i press query in MIOS Studio the core starts sending upload messages and does not stop. What the fuck? And when i try to upload mios again, it says "MIOS8 Bootloader Mode cannot be entered - try again?" What does that mean? As i said, Mios is allready installed and applikation is up and running. Or shall i proceed with my DIN/AIN/DOUT Module without careing about the lcd?

Hi, i have ordered in mikes midi shop. Is it possible, that the wiring differs from the wiring described in the lcd section? There is a 1 and a 16 on the LCD, and i suppose that means, it is wired as usual. (like here http://www.sprut.de/electronic/lcd/index.htm#stecker) When i turn the contrast pot, sometimes there appear some white squares, but vanish a few seconds later. I will try to solder the cables directly now, because i soldered them with plugs. Maybe i have got a bad connection or something...

Nope, i have allready loaded up MIOS, also MIOS Studio says "Application is up and running". I tried to upload it once again, but nothing changed. How can i see if everything is allright? Maybe my LCD is broken somehow or i connectd it the wrong way...

Hi, this is my first Midiprojekt and i am not very good at electrical stuff. Now i have soldered my Core Modul together and powered it up. I uploaded the Mios8 without problems. When i connect the LCD, somewhere it says, i should see a copyright symbol, but i don´t. All it does is to light up... I have allready checked this schemata http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_lcd_mios8.pdf but i think i made everything right. How can i check, if i made everything right? Also in MIOS Studio this message [48293.055] f0 00 00 7e 40 00 0f 00 f7 keeps repeating all the time. (Only the number in [] brackts keeps on counting) Does that mean, i have a shortcut?

Ahh ok, gut zu wissen, das hab ich überlesen. Ich glaube dann mach ich doch wirklich ein LPC Modul. USB wäre mir recht wichtig und wenn ich mein AIN Modul dann nicht mehr verwenden kann, sind das ja 30€ einfach für die Tonne. Hier bei Midibox war mir auch was nicht klar: http://www.midibox-shop.com/buy.html Ich brauche die Platine (17$), das Core Set (27$) und dann noch zusätzlich den LPC17 von irgend einer zweiten Seite? Wo finde ich Platinen für das AINSER Modul? Oder vielleicht sogar schon vorsortierte Sets?
