  1. maybe a last resort is to try and replace the resistor array, and also resolder it properly with normal solder?
  2. Hello and thanks for replying all! Sorry for the late reply, I was waiting for email notifications when somebody posted..but it didn't come through Anyway, @Katch : yeah The solder job is crap...It was done years ago....and You're right It's lead free solder, and probably the iron was indeed not hot enough...but the other day I checked for continuity with a multi meter and didn't find any bad joints.... It's a mess, and it needs help...I'm based in Belgium, but can post to anywhere you want It's effin' sad this box is laying around for years now, useless, broken, depressed and not sammichSIDdin' at all! Would be great if you want to take a look...let me know when you got the time and what I can do for you in return! Thanks
  3. My sammichSID is hopeless Everything is working except the control surface, It's not reacting to buttons and encoder, and it's acting weird....I swapped IC's, uploaded and re-uploaded firmware....checked solder joints...I'm all out of options...the more I try to fix it the more it gets worse...I'm getting paranoia over stuff, I thought one of the buttons was bad so I took it off and ruined a trace.....I have to lay off it, because I'm making stupid emotional decisions....so PLEASE I NEED HELP! Anybody who has done reparations on Sammich please respond, I will pay for your time and expenses. I don't want this sammich laying in the corner, broken, not being used...It makes me VERY SAD thank you for helping me
  4. Hey Thanks! I'll try asking Wilba.... Wow that's hardcore to DIY the board! Cool...but not likely to succeed with my DIY skills :(
  5. The Buttons we're acting erratic, I changed all IC's, I measured all voltages, measured the Resistor networks, Did the CS control test program... So I thought the buttons we're the problem, tried to get them off...now the board is ruined... All the rest is working fine....I'm so sad...was looking mega forward to using it in my studio... Will post a picture later...But I think It's a lost cause...need a new board
  6. If someone has a control surface pcb for sale please pm me. My board is broken en unfixable....traces broke off and there's damage on pcb holes. I can reuse the LCD and source the rest (I hope) Thanks in advance...
  7. Hi Thorsten, thanx for your reply! I uploaded exactly that file... there are absolutely no hardware mods ! Is there ANYTHING I can do to fix my Sammich? Do you guys handle faulty units? or can I get a new one? Sorry for the troubles....It's just so sad... I fixed a sammichSID for somebody the other day, it had also some CS problems but they were fixed by all the stuff I did above, but now mine seems unrepairable.... :( Thnx
  8. Hello, i've done Music Machine, prophet 64, Mssiah, Cynthcart and boy was I happy to finnally get a Sammich!!! Thanx for that! But.... I'm having real issues with my encoder and buttons on CS Everything is working great, besides them At first the encoder worked, after firmware upload it stopped Button 4 of the top row is working all the rest is dead CS testmode behaves erratic... No shorts, no wrong placed IC's, no wrong soldered resistor array, no flipped caps, heatsink not touching, checked all solderjoints 100 times, tested continuity on headerpins , nothing I can see/think of... Changed all IC's on CS couple of times, no change I'm STUCK.... :( Could it be a PCB issue? Bad buttons? encoder? resistor array ?don't have a clue tested voltages on buttons all good, all voltage and continuity tests ok, screen is ok..leds are working fine, BUT when sound plays no action from leds too.. Please help....I'm about to put my sammich in a box with a half assed CS....no fun without the knobs, sure midi works and all but ...sigh I'm all out of options here
