Ok, but a SID bug on/off would be nice.... :D

Hey, that's fantastic.
I hope the new interface will get an adjustable voltage range from -10 to +10V, so you can also control arp synth's with it. Will it be supported by the Midibox 64?

I made the tb-303 clone from Carlos Germany (LosDos).
http://home.t-online.de/home/TB-303/tocd.htm
The clone works and the sound is much the same as the original. It's the same schematic as the original. The pcb is not very professional. Broken pipes etc. You have a lot to do the get it to work. It's also a bit expensive. The midi-interface is using a 80C31 and in the part description a some expensive transistors. (You can use the much cheaper us versions)
Next time i would use the one from oakley sound. Much better pcb and some extra features like cv/gate/accent/slide in etc. But i don't know if it sound exactly the same as the original. It's a slightly modifyed schematic.

The TR-909 is from Trevor Page:
http://www.resonance.fsnet.co.uk/
It's an very professional PCB. But a lot of work! 2 PCB's to do and the part's will cost about 300 Euro.
I have all the part's now and now it's time to start... :D
So, i really don't know how this thing sound's, but it should be the same as the original. The schematic looks the same.

Hello, :P
is there someone else interested in a voltage controlled output module?
To controll some old synths like tb303, moog etc. without midi?

Ok, let's see and wait till Horsten is back from holiday. It would be very cool to use more than 8 channels. With 2 MF modules and some cores or with a extended MF module that support 16 or more channels.
I have a 16 in and out interface for my pulsar/scope card and do the mixing on my scope but i need a mixer (controller) for my main parts of my scope mixing.
But it's not urgent, first i have to finish my tb-303/midibox and my tr-909 clone.

Ok, let's say i do it with 2 core modules and 2 mf modules. 1 connected to it's core module. Do i need an other core for the 64 potis and for the buttons or can i use one of the others?. Can i link the 2 core's so i need just one display and don't recognize that 2 or more core's are working in the back?

New parallel version?
Is this the new version:
http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_mf.pdf
Is it not possible to expand this board with more then 2 74hc595. For example with 4 74hc595 and 16 TC4427?
How many of this boards can i connect to one core module?

Thanx,
then i don't have to search for a problem in the circuit. - Cool. Â :D
Maybe there is a way to add a hardware gate addon that close the output when the signal is lower than...?!

When i play a note i still hear the tone after the note off. Very quiet but the sound is still there. Â ???
It's like the gate is not closing totaly. Â :-/
Anyone know what this could be?

My next project could be a 16 channel mixer with a mute, solo button a pan and 4 aux potis on each strip.
How many channels can i control with the MF module?
I need 80 potis, 17 motor. faders and aprox. 64 buttons. Is this possible?

Thomas

I think a cv/gate module could be a good and useful addon for the great Midibox project.
Is it possible to add a new module for cv and gate out?
Is there space for more code?
I saw a midi to cv, gate, accent, slide and cv2 out box based on a PIC from Trevor Page.
http://www.resonance.fsnet.co.uk/miditocv.htm
This could be a good point to start a new module.

Sorry, they are the 4 additional buttons for shortcuts and yes they should flash once when pressed. ;)

I made the one from LosDos Germany. Yes i'm very happy with it. I have an original to compare and they sound 99% the same. The schematic is exactly the same as the original. I think the difference exactable. The pcb was not the best and he used a 80C31 and an eeprom for the midi interface witch is a bit oversized and to expensive i think.

Yees, thank you. I tried i just in independent mode. Â ::) But there is still a little problem. My tb plays a slide when i note is legato. The Slide Led is flashing on every note, it doesn't matter how short a note is. I tried this in combined mode. Is the MIDIbox playing every not legato? Is this possible?

How can i add LED's for the 4 menu buttons?

I made a TB-303 Clone and try to use my MIDIbox 64 as sequencer. My clone uses velocity to control the accent, so i have to control - note - velocity and note length with my MIDIbox. Is this possible?
I could control the note and the gate but not the velocity.

MPC-style drum pads
in Testing/Troubleshooting

I just did the e-drum project. It's also cool. I made some drum pad's with cheap training pad's. Now i try to make some smaller pad's to record bongos etc. I got good results with a old small metal soap can. You just have to stick a piezo in it. That's all.
I also made some small pad's 5x5cm. I used a piezo, a aluminium 2mm and a piece of neopren rubber on it. But the result was disapointing. I had to hit very hard to get a velocity more than 64. :-[
I send more info's as soon as i know what's the best to built. (And play)

Thomas
