hi rowan! alps-fader at this price... yes, i'm very interested , too!!! let us know if you have some more news on this. greetz, icam
-

oh, i don't know eactly but i think they would have mentioned if there was a VAT... i haven't ordered faders by now cause i'm still searching for them faders somewhere in europe for a good price (and my mb-project is not at the point where i need them by now :-/) icam
-
@ pilo: even in europe you can order from allelectronics. you have to order by mail because their website-order doesn't support europe. i asked them how you can handle a order out of europe and this was the answer: icam

ach, ganz vergessen...

;) gruss, icam

got a similar system like the_swede: two times windows xp on two different bootable hard-drives (one reserved only for audio). i've got a software-switch which i can recommend: Boot It NG. it switches the ide-type of your harddisk so that you can boot even from ide 1 not only from ide 0. and you don't have to use a hardware-switch. both of the xp-partitions are tweaked by using different tweak-sites for audio-purposes. icam

it's really weird: i soldered the display just like you've shown in the picture. first i thought there could be another pin-assignment at this display but the data-sheet shows that it's the same assignment as in the example. i checked the wiring approx. 20-times (for each of the two displays). there's no cause for that i can imagine. and the very first time i plugged a display to one of the cires all worked well except the mios-upload. and after i re-programmed the pic this weird solid line was displayed. ??? ??? ??? ok, now i'll go to bed and hopefully tomorrow i'll find the error (don't know where to search anymore but i've got a good feeling... :-/). thanks, icam

hi to ya'll!!! after the troubles i posted under the topic "problem with mb tiny control". i reprogrammed the pics (two of them 18f). and now: NOTHING works!!! :'( everytime i programmed them and put them onto one of my core boards (three pieces) and connected one of my two lcd-displays (202a from reichelt) i only get the upper line filled with rectangles... nothing more ??? ??? the bootstrap-loader is burned correct (verified by ic-prog) and sends his midi-message. even the upload of mios v1.2 works fine (id 0f xx f7) is sent after every block. what could be the error??? did somebody have the same problem? i checked all topics depending the same error but reprogramming the pics didn't work and the contrast-pot isn't broken too... hope somebody can help me, PLEASE. greetz, icam

hi thorsten! i checked the upload (like shown on the upload-page) and it always returns that everything is ok (... 0f xx f7). i also checked to upload the sid-application before posting but it was the same problem but in this case the display showed nothing after the upload. there is either the strange behaviour that a upload of the older mios v1.1 results in blinking cursors on the s display but no constructive message. now i'm trying to get may sid started without display and control-surface... but it looks a little crazy to me... icam
-
i hope someone on this forum can knows this strange behaviour: i programmed the 18f with the bootstrap-loader, assembled it on the core-board, connected lcd (2x20) and one dinx1-module to the core. after that i transferred the mios v1.2 via midiox... everything worked well and after the transfer the mios-copyright string was presented on the lcd every 2 sec. but after transfer of the tc-program this message was still displayed and not the tc-string... ??? ??? when i push the buttons or turn the encoder no midi-output can be detected only the frequently sended sysex-string F0 00 00 7E 40 00 F7... what went wrong??? icam

hi jprobbe! i had the same problems/error-code by first testing my self-assembled jdm. first you should check if you assembled the jdm properly... important, if you did the same mistake than me, check the voltages for "enable clock" and "data out" like described on the jdm-page. it took me some minutes to find the error (reading pic was possible, only programming and verifying failed)... i had a short-circuit at pin 39/40 of the pic. after i removed the error and followed the instructions on the jdm-page step-by-step everything worked well. greetz, icam

the datasheet for the lc7981 can be downloaded at this site: http://www.chipdocs.com/pndecoder/datasheets/SANYO/LC7981.html unfortunately the displays i looked for are no longer available at ebay/germany... but it could be helpful for others to see if it's compatible or it's to complex to program a driver for those controllers. i searched the web for compatible displays and found this site http://www.glyn.de where displaytech-lcd's are offered but no price-list. by this time i've not contacted them but maybe others here in this forum??? greetz, icam

hi there! first post for me. to this point everything has worked well (planning the mackie clone and a little sid; ordering and soldering the needed parts). now it's time for planning how it should look like at the end... ;) the question is: is a LC7981 (sanyo)-controlled 240x64 glcd compatible to the ones with ks0108-controller??? if not, i'll try to get another one and therefore it would be helpfull if somebody from germany could tell where to get cheap ks0108-controlled displays (i can't find them!!!). greetz, icam
