  1. Hi! Not suprisingly I have some problems with my lcd. I'm just wondering what the voltages should be on j15 on the core, espessialy Vo. while talking about that can anyone tell me what Vcc, Vss, Vo, etc realy stands for?(i get that Vss is ground and Vd is 5v) Also my lcd spec talks about Vlcd, witch should be alittle lower than the logic's 5v. , so to sum, what level should Vo have, and what does the letters stand for? Best Nikolai
  2. Hi. I find simple "Signal indicators" handy, cause I only need to know if there is sound or not, the only time I need a real meter is on the master when making sure the levels are right before the audio is handed to the broadcaster or such, in that case I don't trust the slow VU meter's of cubase anyway. maybe this is only me being paranoid.

Maybe this is something? http://www.mouser.com/catalog/620/1273.pdf btw, please move this post to "parts", have no idea why it's here
  4. Thank you for your fantastic reply! I'll see what my electronics-shop can come up with and compare the data-sheets. This info surly must be interesting for others. all best Nikolai
  5. Hi! I use cubase's Generic Remote, since i'm working with a modified LC,. This driver can asign "meter" ,"meterMAX" and "Clip" to midi msgs. I use this for my Signal leds. ofcourse they only show if a signal is present or not. but im quite sure you could hook up a complete meter.
  6. Hi! just wondering if there is a simple way of finding out if a lcd complies with the Hitachi standard. It usualy does not say "this lcd coplies with the HD4478 standard", so I want to know if there is a pin asigment to look for , or another name or such. Thank you Nikolai

Hi, just wondering what people have used for powersuply with their LC's , as I understand it needs 12v for mf and 5 for the rest. What are the options/solutions? Nikolai
  8. Thank you Doc! That sound like a good idea, i'll try that, only thing is that it can't be custumized in the same way as the generic driver,. but well, i'll live. Nikolai
  9. Thank you clearing that up. TK I will look around in the cubase forum, and come back here and post an update, incase someone else has this problem later on. Best, Nikolai ------ btw. Temporary workaround is: (quite stupid) create to instances of every function, ex. ch 1 mute button, create "mute 8" and "mute 8 S". . , told you, stupid solution. hah :P
  10. Update- Further investigation shows that there is nothing worng whith my box. this is a cubase problem. Testing.. Conecting a Midi keyboard and a Sound module instead of the Midi box shows the following. Key pressed on keyboard  MuteButton on mixer Turns On Press keyboard again and the  MuteButton goes off, but no sound from the module ( the generic remote is set to Resive AND transmit)when Pressing the mute button with the mouse the sound module plays a note and holds it as long as the button is on. Correct. Conclution: When resiving a midi msg. Cubase's "Generic Remote" does not send a msg, out. Nikolai
  11. Hi! I'm building a midibox, lc, though a bit alterd. I have tested it using cubase VST 32 and Midi OX, every thing works fine. The problem occurs when i set it up in Cubase SX. The buttons/leds uses Midi ON/Off msgs. When a midi msg i sent to the box the led wount go off.. I think this is very strange. How have other people set up SX with their midi boxes? Thi should be rather simple., and works great in VST but not in SX. I would be greatful for any tips or experiences Thank you all, Nikolai
  12. moebius: good idea! what happens if your mackie control's lcd breaks?, there has to be a way to order spare parts,... Ill look around..
  13. 80x 2 would be great. the problem with using two 40's is that they have to be pretty spaced, witch means you have groups of 4 faders (cause 8 is hard to fit, on a 40) and the pysical size of the box will grow. I would like to find away to do this so that my 16 track controller is smaler, then my 24 track soundcraft, heh :)
  14. Hi, has anyone seen big lcd's around? like the ones used on Mackie Control, they are 50+ charaters? i gues they exists but where? and can they be used? Nikolai
  15. yes! The other morning I woke up fresh and free, and I soon figured out that it was the cable between the core and the din, though I measured a connection and my millimetre said BEEP! There was a slight voltage drop, replaced the cable and everything is in perfect order, no new ic’s needed. I feel a bit silly that the problem was that simple, but at least now I know the DIN in and out. Thank you all for helping! Nikolai :D
  16. Hi,. No they haven't been hot, like room temp.. I'l try with new ones anyway, only costs like a bottle of pepsi. The voltage reads 4.2, that should be ok, or? I think there is a evil spell over this particular pcb, all others i've made have worked on first try... ;) Nikolai
  17. Thank you both! I now have established that it is a hardware problem. Going over the board, and re-soldered some resistors, that did the trick. (I’ll never Hurry-solder again). How ever after a while another problem occurred. When only the first ic is in, buttons work, but if I put in the second none work. Is there an obvious solution to this? Maybe I’ll run over to the shop and bye some new 74HC’s, but I find it hard to believe they are all broken (tried swapping them) Thank you Nikolai
  18. Hi! I have a problem with my DIN-module. The symptoms are a bit strange sometimes the buttons work, sometimes they dont. Sometimes one button hangs and sendes on/off msg. Repeatedly util another button is pressed. My din used to work, so i was thinking this might be a software error, does there exist a small program for only running a din-module? so that I can test the hardware? At the moment only the DIN is connected to my core, and I’m running a modified version of the box64. By the way thank you all for this wonedrful site and the consept it self, it’s one of a kind.
