  1. the 1k resistor for the lcd is refer to the one reported in the lcd scheamtics.pdf. In the previous version you didn't need to put it ( i did so) 'cause you connected all the pins. Now you have to free pins from D0 to D3.
  2. Hey T. tnx for reply. I already knew the link you gave me. Pls..'cause i'm stupid :) can you check this?: 4x 100nF Ceramic Caps (to stuff into my MBHP_SID v2 for power integrity - 1Mhz Osc already removed); PIC18F4685 (if i choose the STEREO MODE i need only one of this? or even if in stereo mode i need two COREs for two SIDs? This is obscure to me); 1k resistor for the new LCD connection in 4bit mode (...yes..a i need to free 4 connections D0 to D4); 1k resistor for CORE CAN connection; new 24LC512; 1 1N4148 diode (or 2 assuming that even if in Stereo mode i need 2 COREs) Stereo mode and bassline: i've heard the samples. GREAT features!! (it's also nice the use of matrix screen as eq screen :))) ) tnx a lot for help!
  3. Hello, i'm considering to (finally) complete my midibox sid. I started building the old midibox SID v.1. but since the features of new version seem to be really interesting i've decided to upgrade my project to version 2. This is the stuff i have: 2 MBHP_CORE v2 with 2 PIC18F452 burned with old JDM 2 MBHP_SID v2 2 SID 6581 4x20 Blue LCD MBHP_DINX4 MBHP_DOUTx4 leds, 1 rotary encoder, buttons for minimum control surface optimized PSU circuit (tnx to Pocketmaster from Swiss for building him for me) + C64 power supply 2 x 24LC256 bankstick What do i need to upgrade to version 2? In particular it seems that now it's possible to connect 2 SIDs to 1 Core directly for STEREO purpose. Since i have 2 CORE modules, what is it best choice for me? to buy two new PICs for realizing a separeted multi SID device or going straight to the new STEREO feature? tnx a lot for big support!!! lee
  4. Hello, what are the differences between the two MbSID version? Is there an important feature or a reason to justify the upgrade? (my PCB - core and SID are v2...so i need to buy some new component and new PIC if i want to upgrade) lee
  5. Hello, tnx a lot for reply. If i remember right, for midibox step_C i need 3 DINx4. Removing the Matrix section, i need only 2 DINx4 ( and no DOUTx4), is it right? tnx a lot for support lee
  6. Hello, i'm starting to build a new MidiboxSID (v3). My intention is to make a sort of midibox with C type control surface without matrix (this choice is to avoid boring me soldering 56 leds) but with all knobs/rotary encoders. This is what i want to know: -what is the function of matrix in MidiBox SID? -without matrix (but with all rotary encoders required by step C) how many DINX4 & DOUTX4? (3+2)? -On Voti webstore i found 24LC256 DIP and SMD bankstics: do they work without problem? or only one kind is good for MidiBox SID data storage? that's all tnx a lot for support bye lee
  7. :'( :'( :'( i hoped you said "NO. it's not necessary. You may choose. If yr pcbs have mounted the oscillator you can keep it"... ...but if not...i'll remove the OSC. tnx again Thorsten ;) lee
  8. hi tk, tnx again!!! ;) my SIDs have both the 1Mhz osc.: i have to remove them a make this connection >> "SID clock to Core::J7:SO PIC Pin #17" ?
  9. tnx TK! ok that link works for one to one interconnections. But for multiply interconnections? I need to know the exact interconnectsion between 2 Core modules & 2 SID modules ;) lee
  10. I bought my board from a guy in Italy who made the PCB for me. ALL my SID and CORE board show : V2 (MBHP_SID V2; MBHP_CORE V2) So? where can i found the pdf for the interconnections i need? tnx
  11. http://ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_4xsid_c64_psu_optimized.pdf http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp_sid_old.html In particular i have found this two source. The connections of SID & Core showed in the first link are different from the connections in the socond link. What of these 2 schemes do i use to complete (now that i have the time!!) my MidiBox SID V2?
  12. HI, can u post the link of the .pdf mentioned above...V2. I canno't find it (of course it's my fault!!...sorry! :-[) lee
  14. MB SID V2.... >:(....noooooooooooo....i have to complete my first Midibox V1...but..however... ;D Thorsten, do you think to redisign all MIDIbox SID part's (pcb)...or just you think to a simple add-on (just another pcb) to implement the whole system? lee
  15. ehm...what is the pinnig of 78L09?
  16. I'm not a PC friend!!!;) i love apple...i have a mac: it is all my life. Unfortunately Steve Jobs dislike com port...so Bill Gates continues to stress my life!!!!;)))) infinte sadness!!!! ;D uahuahauhauhauahuah
  17. Of course i've checked the psu connections: green and white cable-5Volts; other two cables (yellow and brown) 9Volts. I have checked the respective connections on psu board too so i think to be able to mod. connectors. However i'll try to find the original female C64 connector!
  18. Ehm.... stupid question:-[...i: i'm looking for a C64 PSU power connector. Unfortunately i don't have an old C64 and i wan't to buy one ( price are too high!!!). hhmmm...maybe could i use two midi connectors? One for C64 psu and one into midi sid box. Do u think they can support high voltage or midi connectors work only with midi signals (low voltage)?
  19. ...everything ok. Now icprog seems to work. fine!!( my first pc refuse to run him; fortunately my friend's pc seems to be more gentle!!!!) I don't know how but everything goes ok. Even if some V values are different from values showed into JDM page (ex. my meter show me 8,5 instead of 14 V when check MCLR ) i was able to punt into my 2 pics the new 1.8 mios!!!! I'm very happy. Without electronic skill, soon i'll gain my midi box SID:))))) tnx to everyone!
  20. Yeah!!! i remember this. Look this link for help: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=4885.0Â Â --->a guy gave me the code but for mios 1.7 In mios 1.8 there is not the "main.hex" file. What file have i to modify? If i understood everything, i have to connect joystick on the J5 of master Core Module, is it right? leelinn
  21. Just a little question: i need DINX4 module for button...but for joystick? i need AIN module obligatorily?
  22. And do u think possible to use the button of psx controller?

    Mios

Hello, i solved my prblems with JDm (i don't know how!!). I pass all checks with my meter(expcept for read all --->i obtained 8,7V instead 13,7V but it seems that under Windows Xp it's impossible to reach this value). Now i have to put into pic the mios: but 1.7a or 1.8? What is the difference? At the moment i put into pic (operation complete successfully) 1.7a. The question is this: i found many hex files and i put into pic only §"main.hex". Is the right one? And the other hex files? If i want to put into pic the mios 1.8 what will i do? I have to erase the old mioand put the one? Is it necessary to repat all test for the same jdm module again? tnx for support leelinn
  24. Anything? I tried again another pc (windows XP). First time i have runned ICprog everything gone ok. But no V into my JDM. Second time, ICprog crush and i could measure 0,56V on my JDM. However it's impossible to use ICprog again. Why?
  25. Hello on - on but with 6 pins (3 pins for side). However it seems that it's no good for my purpose, isn't it? lee
