my idea is ... you can drill a little bigger than 3.2mm (about 4). And now, with your buttons lying in the case you can easily take hot glue to get your buttons centered. I think you would have to glue one after another with this technique because the first glue would get hard until your last button mounted.
A straight hole would not be so good I think because the shaft gets smaller with a certain angle.
But for centering you could take a standing drilling machine and fix some wood to the bottom. Drill a hole with your diameter of the botton. Now you can put your buttons into that hole and take a smaller drill to get your holes into it.

I'm really looking forward to hear some sequenced polyrhythms :)

If just the MIOS bootloader is on the pic you should see a continuing sysex string, the upload request. Random activity should happen when you loaded an application like MB64 and no ain etc is connected. This doesnt happen when you ground the inputs on the core. With an uploaded application just one upload request is sent when your box is powered on.
helps ?

when all checks are ok your core pcb should be fine. I dont know if you just have smashs pic or a board of his too.

Have you already done a "LED check" ?

The Miss Parker is one of my definitive 2do projects :) But as I'm not the guru in reading schematics for making a one layered pcb and I dont have the money to get pro-pcbs or buy the dsp atm it will definately take some time.

hehe nice idea

That means for me if I dont have a 100nF cap I could also use a bigger one like 330nF ? And why are there 2 caps everytime and not just one ? I see in both pairs one is polarized and one is unpolarized.

lol, the first "midibox branding"

I am in Germany. Got a MBHP Burner. If you want to I can burn it for you, too. Think its cheaper sending to here. Your choice :) But I need a 40pin adapter if it isnt. Sockets and a schematic would also do.
Lall is that MissParker your work ? I ask because of your homepage.

np :D perhaps this helps you a little bit to understand the power supply better: NO troubleshooting but you see the components and what they do. http://www.avishowtech.com/mbhp/ps/

i am using a overhead projector

you cant replace the display with a tv-out if you mean that. mbhp tv is an expirimental project and not implemented in any other midibox.

the original design is 1 layered, because its easier to etch i think.

c16? havent heard of you about it in the past.

your 7805 or rectifier is broken I think, too. The black round thing (first part after j1) is the rectifier. 2 pins are input, 2 are output. Check the output voltage of it. Should be same as the input. Then it goes to your 7805 which makes 5V from it. The lower pin of the 7805 is input, the middle is ground and the upper one is your 5V output voltage. All the parts and 5V pins of the core are supplied from this pin. You can measure the resistance of your caps like this: very high or endless ===> ok .... low or no resistance ===> damaged.

12V is almost too much for your 7805. 9V are enough. but You can take a look at the current of your psu. Perhaps its too small.
