  3. coming right after I finish wiring up the CS. :D
  4. that was it! thank's a bunch Stryd! ;D
  5. different error..... I have a core prepped for the Midibox CV project that also has the CV app loaded in it fine. I swapped out the PIC for the one I cannot upload the SIDv2 app on. When I try to upload through that Core I get this error... Sending block 00008400-000084FF Received error code 08: 2nd level bsl: Read/Write command tried to access an invalid address range Sending block 00008400-000084FF Received error code 08: 2nd level bsl: Read/Write command tried to access an invalid address range Sending block 00008400-000084FF Received error code 08: 2nd level bsl: Read/Write command tried to access an invalid address range Aborting after 3 errors
  6. I have a PIC18F4685. LOL! That's awesome! ;D
  8. Sweet! Got my SID today! ;D Thanks Wilba! :-*
  9. seattle you say? welcome to the emerald city then. ;D
  10. ??? still no sign. was there anybody on the list that was in the US? ??? maybe I'm just starting to get impatient?
  11. dunno about that. I suspect my country is notorious for checking international packages, considering that I happen to live within the evil empire of the western hemisphere. :P
  12. yea. that is odd. this may sound funny but, unplug test the PSU to be sure something hasn't gone "wonky" with it? :-\ <edit> Oh, and also, what do you have your boards mounted to, plastic, wood, or metal? I had mine mounted into an aluminum case, with a card backing that my boards were mounted to, and then one day, everything just quit working. come to find out, a couple of leads had poked through the card backing and made contact with the case. I ran some insulation under all the boards and the thing came back to life. might not apply to your situation, but offering up any suggestion if it helps.
  13. took me a bit to find it, but here it the picture. this is what I use to distribute power to my modules. the 2 pins setting in front of the regulator is where I plug in the 12v wall adapter. the 5v sid pins connect to the vs/vc pins on j2, the 5v core pins connect to j2 on the core module, and the 12v pins connect to j1 (any pin) on the sid module. the big cap is for power filtering. I used a big heat sink cuz I still have to add the DIN and DOUTs to my project, to keep it cool. I found it cheaper to do it this way instead of hunting down a C64 PSU. Works good for me. there you go, if any of this helps. :) to get it to power SID 6582/8580 modules, you just use a 9v adapter instead of a 12v. Oh, I can post a simple layout for it if you like. ;)
  14. Not sure if the fuse is absolutely necessary or not. I don't have one on my circuit, but it prolly wouldn't hurt to have one. I use a 12v wall adapter, feeding into a power distributor. in the distributor I have a 5v regulator tapped into the 12v rail that feeds the cores and the 12v feeds the Sid modules. I placed a filter cap on the 5v rail and it all works fine for me.
  15. heh. found this one in Cuba, just east of La Habana. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=23.17602,-82.214577&spn=0.005819,0.008658&t=h&z=17
  16. lol. that almost looks like if superman discovered he needed glasses. ;D
  17. I've only been able to get on here 3-4 times in the past week. same here. lots of out of memory and fatal errors, with varying error messages. Seems like the most times I'm successful is in the early mornings and evenings. :-\
  18. Thanks, Wilba! I received your invoice this morning. I'll send payment as soon as paypal finishes processing my funds transfer. :D
  19. yup. gotta be sniffed. especially if some of us builders are gonna use them for producing"Terror EBM"music, or just to get the dogs high off of the NOS SID goodness. :P
  20. There's an insane 248bpm chiptune by Dispyze of "TrebelDeathSystem" that sounds like it could be the S.A.M. used at the beginning. you can find the track here at the bottom of the page on the player.... http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=143090168
  21. As far as I can see, C1 & C2 are for the cutoff range.

    C64 case

Thanks to those that have PM'd me with a request for cases. this topic is now closed. (although I don't know how to close this thread. :P )
  23. To quote the -HMOS 6582 datasheet: Seems like both caps are only for the cutoff frequency bandwith range.
