  1. The 7809 is used only for the 14 volts needed by the sid-module, so 1A should be enough even with 4 sids. Mike
  2. Sieht echt klasse aus! Bin mal gespannt, wie es nacher in action aussieht. Mike
  3. 2A is more than enough. Should work. Mike
  4. Hi TK, I tried It right now, got no access to patches from 75 to 128. Mike
  5. Hi, 100mA? Should be ok for one SID, but more ... I don't know. I'll do a mailorder some parts end of the month at Reichelt. If you want I can send you a 7809. Mike
  6. Thanks stryd_one, I will order a new one and use a dil-socket. Sadly it wont fit into the subD-case anymore. Mike
  7. Hi and thanks for replying, I don't think I've miswired the bankstick. Checked twice. But could be bad/dead junctions. Have tried to solder the wires in the shortest time possible to not torture the chip. I'll try to resolder it this evening. What me makes wonder is that it works up to preset 74 and failes after that. Mike
  8. Hi, I've built a bankstick today, attached it to the core and tried to upload the preset-bank. Up to preset no. 74 it works fine but after that the lcd shows the message "no bankstick". Bad connections? Killed EEprom? Any Ideas? Mike
  9. Thanks to both of you, Nearly ;) The lack of my soldering practice leaded to two sucked off soldering-pads on the core-module (I'll never use a desoldering pump again. learned that for life). :o Needed three additional wires to patch this. The second problem was a little misunderstanding of the optimized-psu-schematic, so I busted the regulator. In the schematic the pins of the 7809 are numbered 1,2,3 from left to right. In the datasheet of the 7809 (which I refered), pin 3 is the middle one. So I connected them the wrong way and grilled it. Good to have some spare parts. :D
  10. Hi, my SID has become alive and made it's first sounds. ;D ;D ;D Just needed to tell you all. 8) Next step is to build a case.
  14. Thanks for replying! Got another psu in the meantime, giving me nearly perferct 5v. AC is near 10v, but that should work. Need to troubleshoot my circuit, as its giving me not the needed 14v and is getting really hot ::)
  15. Hi, I'm trying to get up the optimized power-suppy. While measuring the c64 power-supply I noticed that instead of 5vdc, 6,57vdc coming out. Is this a fault of the psu? Can I use this one anyway? thanks in advance.
  16. Hi, I think that, too. We should plan a base-version with not much more than the original TR-Features. Also, it should be simple expandable so everyone can build his own dreammachine. We surely need a early feature-freeze. A Leader? I dont really see there has to be one.
  17. Hi, since TK stated there will no problem with CPU-Power for the expanded Version with additional rows of Buttons/Leds I would like to hear the other contributors to this thread. What do you think about the suggestion?
  18. Hi, yes, I didn't take the required CPU-Power into account. Did not thought this would be such a big problem. I've read the vX-Wikipage and have to say that it is a really nice concept. But it seems it is a bit oversized for my actual needs. Since I'm a nerd, I would'nt deny to build such thing in the future. But for now I just searching a "simple to edit" drum-seq. btw: nice explanation of the naming. OK, because the lack of CPU-Power I'll have to rethink my favoured multirow-approach. Perhaps just combining 4 independent TR-Seqs in one Case. ;D No, not really since copying, chaining... would be a hell.
  19. Hi sonicwarrior, sorry, seen your answer late. Indeed, thats a problem with no actual value shown. I would suggest a 7-segment display per row but dont know the difficulties of implementation. OK, no enc, your track-selecetion method will do it.
  20. Hi stryd_one, I thought my suggestion is a slight improvement of the TR-Concept. It's the same way it works, just a bunch of additional track-rows. If there is a general dislike of implementing this as an option, ok. I will have a look at the vX. (Must say I dont like the name, vx is a name for a chemical warfare Agent, too)
  21. Hi, Agreed. What about a dedicated track-selection encoder per row? ;D A dedicated display page would be the best solution, IMO. Or an extra display per row? Just kidding! Agreed. Agreed. Only the Sky (the number of seqencer-rows) should be the limit.
  22. Hi and thanks for replying, 16 steps would be ca. EUR 32,- per track. Sure not cheap. True, but I'm thinking of an option to the base-design. So anyone can build a 2-track, 4-track ... 16-track-version just like he wants. I have to, if I want my dreammachine ;D Here we are thinking completly different. For my opinion it's easier to edit if I'm seeing all tracks at once. Would be a great lightshow, too. Monome and Schaltwerk are really expensive and Schaltwerk is beeing discontinued. The SDS-6 is a really nice vintage-seq but not what Im looking for. Your UI-design is really cool. I only would like a expandable modular concept where I can add additional Tracks as I need them.
  23. Hi All, just found this Midibox-Thing a few days ago and must say, thats all pretty cool. I will first begin to build a Midibox SID, next step would be a Sequencer. But now to the Idea of a TR like Sequencer which I woould also like to build. I really like the ideas in this thread but I would prefer a solution with direct access to eg. 8 tracks. A bit like the Doepfer Schaltwerk does it. Would be nice to expand the design with this as an option. Just my two cents.
