  1. are you sure you are not referring to the 330nF (nanofarad not microfarad) cap? The one connected just before the 7809? I didnt have one of these either but i did have a 220nf and a 100nf handy so just connected them together in parallel :)
  2. yep that solved it ;D Thanks Wilba!...
  3. I think Wilba may have it :-) The rectifier i have has the - and + diagonally so looks like i was creating a short circuit! I'll try again. many thanks R
  4. Hi Guys Am trying to build the optimized psu at the mo using the online pdf and the http://www.danielprice.org.uk/synth-diy/sid_2.htm link for info. I am trying to test the circuit as i build it to make sure voltages are ok! I used the power connector from a c64 and seem to have correct voltages on the board 5.16v dc and 10.2v ac. However when i put the bridge rectifier in the circuit the fuse in my power supply blows? I am using a W04M rectifier as the one specified isnt available from my local shop. anyone any ideas why i might be having this problem? 4 fuses blown so far in testing :( thanks... R
  5. Ah ha... no bridges :) Which is probably why I couldnt find any mention of them... nice thanks guys...
  6. Hi Guys.. newbie question.. I have found quite a bit of info from the forum on this already but it still seems a little unclear to me. I have the most recent (R4D) Core Module kit from SmashTv and I wish to know about soldering bridges. I know that several of the bridges have been included in the design... so my question is which ones are left to solder and from which pin to which? I have looked at the schematics and the layout in Eagle lite etc. but I cant quite work it out ???. I am building a Midibox Sid if this helps. thanks... Ripley..
