yeah I had that idea, but its all sorted now - its going to a guy that will mod the hell out of it so it will go on to do great things!

Hey all I have a Kawai organ about to go on the street for council cleanup. I grabbed it last time so I could take the spring reverb from it. Its fully functional and is prime for mods. Its got drum machine with sequencer too - waltz, cha cha etc, so no need to make one of those overly complex MBSEQ :tongue: The sequencer even does arpeggiation - crazy! Tape deck with pitch control included. Uses: playing a tape loop, playing a backing track of fat beats made by the church reverend, recording your awesome tracks, removing it and installing a bunch of knobs and switches for your crazy mods, etc. I also have the service manual to make modding easier. Interested? tell me now because the misses is giving me a hard time to get rid of it (taking up too much room in the garage). I can even drop it off to you, depending where you are in Sydney / blue mountains. Regards Andrew

Hmmm. Ok, well if its going to be that much work, I guess I'll have to admit that I dont really have that much time to do it then. When I first started thinking about it, I thought it would be relatively straight forward. Bummer. Thanks for the feedback guys!

Hi All As a proud owner of an Elektron Machinedrum, I love the parameter lock function – quick extract from the user guide: “2. Now it is possible to lock parameters to a specific note in the pattern. In grid edit mode, hold a [DRUM] key and then tweak a parameter. The parameter adjusted will be inverted to indicate that it now is locked to the value you set. The corresponding <DRUM> LED will flash rapidly to indicate that a parameter is locked for that step. 3. In live recording mode, you can lock parameters by tweaking the knobs while recording.†I’d love to build the 9090 (http://www.introspectiv.eclipse.co.uk/) and add this functionality to it. As for the MidiBox side, I guess (a modified) MB SEQ or MB808 would be the right brain for it. Ill probably wait for the new core module before hitting this side of things. As for the ability to add the tuning, I need to find a way of replacing the mainly logarithmic pots on the front panel. Circuit diagram at http://www.introspectiv.eclipse.co.uk/download/9090_schems_10june02.pdf . I thought of: 1. Digipots, but from what I gather, they will not go well with the negative half of the waveform, and the waveform will probably be too high voltage for them (only found 5v ones) 2. Mixer chip like in MB Mixer, but there are 30 parameters in the 9090 which would mean 15 chips at more than AU$20 each, that’s not viable. 3. AOUT_NG (multiple x AOUT NG?) driving VCAs – currently the only solution I can see. I’d love to hear if anyone has any better ideas for this! The idea was to have the 1 SSM board and have it used per patch to different SID channels, along with the other FX, so some pretty simple DOUT stuff I would have thought. The 4 spare AOUTNG channels would be routed to control the level of drive to the reverb, distortion level, etc from an LFO, envelope or plain old knob Main reason for wanting it all routable, apart from using external inputs with the FX and setting up FX chains, is cause Ill be using different chips. I'll have it stuffed with: 1 x 6581 1 x 8580 4 x 6582

Yeah, Ill be building it (flat out) either way. The reverb (about 9" x 2" x 1" high)may not be full "HiFi" quality, but should it'll sound nice - Ive never heard digital reverb I liked.... Must be the dub in me... Anyway, once I get it sorted out, Ill probably get a new one (maybe double up) - they are quite cheap. As for my construction skills - better than my nunchuck skills, but not as good as my bo staff skills - FYI, Im a qualified tech with all the toys (anyone need BGA chips done??) so construction will be a brease as I can monitor waveforms for calibrating the fx etc. I guess what Im asking is "is the platform capable of handling the extra stuff" both in terms of hardware and software limitations. Hi All Ive got the MB6582 kit ordered, along with some extra bits. Ive got a spring reverb tank from an old Kawai organ I want to use, along with an SSM board. I also plan on putting in a distortion stage, drum triggers etc. Ive made a quick plan (attached) of how I see it working. I know Im going to have to battle with programming, but first wanted to know if this is indeed possible? Thanks a lot Andrew

I was just thinking for filter control with SID - one chip for 2 outs is all that's needed - which could save space and cost, but if they aren't good enough, then that explains it.
