  1. I used a classic TAIT serial programmerand ICProg 1.05E , the same one I used to program the two working 18F452's I Also read back the contents and compared to the hex file, and all is OK I have also verified that the code protection is the same as the others , Config 5 == C00F Thanx Thys
  2. Hi there I have a strange(I think) problem. I have two 18F452's programmed with the bootloader, and MIOS 1.9e . both of these work great. I also have and 18LF452 programmed with the bootloader. If I program this chip with the MIDI loopback test, it works fine. The bootloader programs fine, however when I try to upload MIOS via mios studio, I get the following errors : Starting upload of mios_v1_9e_pic18f452.hex Hex file contains code in MIOS range, forcing reboot! Or should I be using a different bootloader for the 18LF series ? Thanx Thys
  3. Also take a look at www.mec.dk. They have a Switch with integrated LED that accepts different keycaps. I priced some samples in South Africa this morning, and The switch with keycap is about 2.5 Euro, but realy nice. Just look for the illumec 4FTH9 series with 1KC1116 keycaps. HTH Thys
  4. Hi Thorsten I got the problem solved by using ICProg. In order to use ICProg under XP I had to use porttalk and allowio to get access to the parrallel port. Thanx Thys
  5. Thanks for the quick response Thorsten Dumb question , but what should the bits be set to ? (Default config) I have two config words I can set. when I load the code into the programmer, they show up as FEFF and FFF3. Is this correct ? Thanks Thys
  6. Hi there. I have a core board, which if I load the MIDI echo hex file, echo very nicely whatever I send it. However, if I load the bootloader : bootloader_v1_2b_pic18f452.hex using winpic, I keep getting the following messages on my input : 00000001620872 ms | [90 78 20] Channel 1: Note On C9 velocity: 32 00000001620873 ms | [C8 01 00] Channel 9: Program Change no: 1 00000001620874 ms | [C8 3F 00] Channel 9: Program Change no: 63 00000001620874 ms | [FF] System Reset 00000001620874 ms | [A0 78 20] Channel 1: Aftertouch C9 pressure: 32 00000001622765 ms | [C8 01 00] Channel 9: Program Change no: 1 00000001622766 ms | [C8 3F 00] Channel 9: Program Change no: 63 00000001622766 ms | [FF] System Reset 00000001622766 ms | [A0 78 20] Channel 1: Aftertouch C9 pressure: 32 I expect the sysex message, but dont get it. 7. Take a look at http://www.adamhall.co.uk/. They supply hardware for making flightcases. HTH Thys
  8. Hi I did some PCB's for LED rings, and thought I'd post them here. These are DIY-able, but takes some doing, as they are double sided. Attached are the photos of the top and bottom, and the eagle board file. Enjoy Thys led_rings.zip led_rings.zip
