Is there some kind of drawing file, pcb file, step file or something similar available? The svg for the acrylic case doesn’t appear to be the correct scale. I have an original white pcb and would like to 3d print a case. I want to know the x/y locations of every hole and component. Thanks

Going through my spare parts box as I need to get rid of things before I move house. I have 2 c64 220V PSUs that are fully functional, coming from broken c64s I scavenged sids from. Not useful in the UK since we are 240V so the AC out on these are too high for a C64 without a step-down transformer. So if you are after C64 supplies for your midibox sid please PM me and I will send them to you for whatever the shipping costs me - uk to mainland europe - I estimate it would be around 9 euro, judging from shipping prices to the UK for similar items. They will end up on ebay in the next few days if no one wants them.

This is why I am confused, TK seems to have the project running on LPC17. I have one from a university project I wont be using any more so I would like to use it for this project. I can core with a PIC based core and etch the speakjet board but if there is a simpler way that uses my LPC17 that would be great

Am I being an idiot? is there a diagram for the LPC17 based circuit?

Ive done a trade with a mate for another 8580 as I will no longer need my mssiah64 cart when this is finished. I know the filters are weak on 6581s and I cant use some of the mixed waves but I like the dirtiness. `Could you clarify how I can use the shift register approach? My plan was to have all the chips playing the same anyway and the cost of a new core puts this project on the back burner - well at least it wont be entirely finished for a while

The MB-6582 has a stereo jack per SID pair, no mixer. I prefer a pair of mono jacks to a single stereo for ease of integrating with my setup. I will eventually add a filter and MBHP_AOUT_NG. I can use the same Omron G6K-2P relay found on the SSM filter board to switch between the SID types, and with the AOUT_NG the SID type and whether the external filter is active will be saved within the patch. Its going to be a beast! Best get cracking

Thanks for such a definative answer. I actually am pretty confident with designing circuits, and ive a cnc milling machine for making any boards i design. There is something to be said for individual outs for each sid, but im seriously running out of space-ive all 24 inputs full on my main interface and my modular is rapidly tilling up my other 8-once theyre full thats it, no rack space for another ad/da and absolutely no more space for more racks. So im going to do twin core quad sid, 2 mono trs jack output with a switch on the front panel to choose which SID type you want to hear. So i best get my ass in gear! Thanks again

Its taking me a while but I'm building my first midibox project. I have 2 6581s and 1 8580. I'm hoping to have a stereo 6581 module and an 8580 in the same case with a single output that can either switch between the 2 types or have a mixer to blend the outputs. Can I do this with a single core? If not I will end up getting another 8580 and have dual stereo, but I'd rather not as I dont have the cash to get another SID and I'm also trying my best to complete my ongoing projects before adding new ones! Do people usually mix the two SID types in one case, and do they blend the audio output signals or have multiple outputs?

Hmm, very interesting. Shame I am uk based so I couldnt use it but it would be interesting to know how well these work as I am sure there are a lot of americans who would like a decent replacement

Thanks yeah they are the ones, the ones I ordered look identical but I must have not paid attention to the pitch - 2.5mm on the ones I ordered but 3.96 on the correct ones. Thanks again

Before I add myself to the list could you confirm if: a) eagle file will be provided eventually b) how many layers the PCB will be I have recently bought myself a CNC milling machine so I would be able to etch it myself if its 2 layers or less, and it is far more exciting to know I have made everything in a project

I bought 4, unit price £23.40 uk shipping £10 plus vat, total £124.32 as I can think of so many projects which need digital 5v and bipolar 12v - thanks for the info NorthernLightX. But could you help me with something - what cables/connectors did you use? I know on the board you have JST B3P-VH and JST B6P-VH male headers but I cannot find the female equivalent. thanks in advance

Sorry for being an idiot and not realizing most of the info is already there. The main thing is I have realized I definitely want the FX section, as with a little patience I should just about be able to program some kick and snare sounds. Thanks for the info
