here is my interface what i'm using to connect my two 2x40 LCD in my MIDIbox.

Maybe you can solder one on a small breadboard but if you like more professionality....

IMO this PCB is unuseful.

You can achieve this by using a 17 wires ribbon cable and 3 HE10 connector.

You do the same as IDE ribbon for Harddrive : the only difficulty is to rearrange the wires on the Core connector ( I did it for my SEQ)

i don t know of any 2 hours spent in Eagle that could be considered useless  ;)

You forgot the 2nd enable line....of course, one could do as you said and cut the enable line to the 2nd connector and run one extra wire.
