der.warst
Hey there, every now and then someone came up with questions about building somthing like the D-Beam controller of the MC505. I don't exactly know how the D-Beam thingy works, but wouldn't it be possible to just replace a pot on a AIN module with a LDR to have something similar? am i thinking too simple on this? Maybe this is the crowbar -Method, but after all a LDR is a variable resistor and therefore should work theoretically...? ??? Maybe some additional stuff would be required to get the right range but would't that be the easiest way of doing it?Thanks for any replies,Simolch der Warst
pilo
yes a LDR is a variable resistor, but to have a "potentiometer schematic" (I don't know how to say this in english) you have in fact 2 resistors. So a LDR with an other resistor and you'll have a light control pot! ;)
reincarnate
It looks like what you want to do is possible. There was quite a lengthy discussion on it here: http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=parts_q;action=display;num=1045782117I will be trying to build one into my Midibox, but I've a long way to go yet. Will post back when I work it out.Steve
groovejet
Look this, the "ANALOG BEAM" or the "MIDI INFRAROT SENSOR", analogous to the d-beam controller.www.stoffelshome.dePeter
pay_c
Thats a cool site! Thnx!Anyway: Do you have any idea, how high the latency of this circuits is? And do you know, if you can program those Atmel ICs with the JDM?
groovejet
I have build the "ANALOG BEAM" on a vectorboard, but I can't programing Atmel Ic's :(. The IC-prog contains the 89C2051, but I don't know about the JDM.PeterSorry, for my terrible english.
