MIDIBOX SID always formatting bankstix, even when none connected

Hi everyone!

I've build a pretty minimal midibox SID setup:

CORE + SID + DIN + LCD + some BankSticks

I've burned the bootloader into the pic (i'm an electronics student, so i have an ICD 2)

Then uploaded mios 1.9f through MIOS Studio 9 beta

This boots up fine.

Then uploaded sid_v2_rc30 through MIOS Studio.

MIOS boots up, and then starts formatting Patch 'A'. (even when I have no bankstick connected!)

0 -> 128 and then patch B, then C, etc. etc.

Does this every time I start the box. I can hear the bleeps coming from the SID. (testtone app is working and pic can control every pin of the sid)

The EEPROMs i'm using are microchip 24LC512 types.

I also tried to change "DEFAULT_ENS_BS_CS" to -1, 0 and 7...

Oh, and i'm using a 6582A SID (= 8580 ?)

Any ideas? I'm getting pretty desperate...

So I had this problem and fixed it with the 1k resistor going from D3 to a 5V+. My midibox was shorting out so I was going through re doing some solder joints including the 1k resistor and now it's back to it's reformatting old self. The Diode appears to be functioning according to my multimeter. It's the Core_R4D board btw. I should also note, it's only formatting Bank G and the Ensembles. usually the ensembles. I got new diodes and resistors for it. If that does the trick I'll be at ease otherwise I'm clueless.

One thing you could check, if you have 5V near the banksticks. I remember having this problem when i didn't size my transformer correctly.
