Janis1279 Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 (edited) I am building Midibox FM. I have question about a AOUT_LC module. AOUT_LC with 3*74HC595 chips on pcboard will be possible 12/12 bit resolution DAC's. Will that configuration really workable 4*AOUT_LC with MBFM? Is it not so slow? Sorry my question! I am not any expierence with DAC's. Thanks! Janis Edited November 22, 2009 by Janis1279
TK. Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 Hi Janis, AOUT_LC with 3*74HC595 chips on pcboard will be possible 12/12 bit resolution DAC's. No, this configuration isn't supported by the AOUT_LC driver. Will that configuration really workable 4*AOUT_LC with MBFM? Is it not so slow? Yes, it will be slower. There is a higher danger for MIDI IN buffer overruns. The best solution to get 8x12 bit is the usage of a AOUT_NG module, since it doesn't require to update all channels if only the value of a single channel has changed. This improves the performance significantly. Best Regards, Thorsten.
