Guest den_Juin Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 On Ti.com i can choose diffrent kinds of IC-samples, witch should i use?for 74HC165 i can choose from:

Orderable Device Package Product Description

SN74HC165D Â D Â 8-BIT PARALLEL-LOAD SHIFT REGISTERS

SN74HC165DR Â D Â 8-BIT PARALLEL-LOAD SHIFT REGISTERS

SN74HC165N Â N Â 8-BIT PARALLEL-LOAD SHIFT REGISTERS

SN74HC165NSR Â NS Â 8-BIT PARALLEL-LOAD SHIFT REGISTERS

SN74HC165PWR Â PW Â 8-BIT PARALLEL-LOAD SHIFT REGISTERS

CD74HC165E Â N Â HIGH SPEED CMOS LOGIC 8-BIT PARALLEL-IN/SERIAL-OUT SHIFT REGISTER

CD74HC165M Â D Â HIGH SPEED CMOS LOGIC 8-BIT PARALLEL-IN/SERIAL-OUT SHIFT REGISTER

and for 74HC595:

SN74HC595D D Â 8-BIT SHIFT REGISTERS WITH 3-STATE OUTPUT REGISTERS

SN74HC595DR Â D Â 8-BIT SHIFT REGISTERS WITH 3-STATE OUTPUT REGISTERS

SN74HC595DW Â DW Â 8-BIT SHIFT REGISTERS WITH 3-STATE OUTPUT REGISTERS Â

SN74HC595DWR Â DW 8-BIT SHIFT REGISTERS WITH 3-STATE OUTPUT REGISTERS

SN74HC595N Â N 8-BIT SHIFT REGISTERS WITH 3-STATE OUTPUT REGISTERS

Quote
Nat Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 You always need to use the N package as it will fir the sockets.I have the SN74HC595N, I guess it's the good one over the CD version... Anyone can confirm ? Quote
Guest Xcen Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 Witch ICs were eliminated during the inquisition ::) Quote
Rowan Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 Higo for the: CD74HC165E and the SN74HC595N you can also get the 4051: CD4051BEAnd the RS-232 line driver fot the LTC modual: MAX232INanother IC worth checking out in the :INA103KP (Very high quality instrumentation op-amp manufactured by Burr-Brown, this can be used as a mic pre-amp with phantom power and 20dB pad and lots of gain, with less than 20 external components. the curcuit is simple, It shouldn't take more than an hour to make on veroboard)These op-amps cost about $50NZ each ($1NZ = approx $0.58US)Rowan Quote
Ian_Hurlock Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 Very nice Excen...superb, lol ;)Ian Quote
Guest den_Juin Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 Thanks for your reply rowan!too bad i just ordered the SN74HC165N.ah well, I'll just make another order. Quote
Rowan Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 HiI've just ordered myself another 3 INA103KP's. I've got to wait till I order more so I can build the 8 channel mic pre I've been workink on.Ian, how is the studio coming. If you haven't splashed out on multicore cable yet let me know. I'm on to a good deal for proel cable, I got some 12 core twisted pair on monday for $13/m, hey that's cheaper than 12 meters of single core from dick smith.Rowan Quote
Steven_C Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 Very funny Xcen!! ::).....Rowan, where did you get the circuit? are there any resources on the net for designing op-amp circuits, on a basic level that you know of??bye, from Steve Quote
Rowan Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 HiNat: the IC may work, I haven't tried them. Steven_C: Cheack out the Texes Inst. Page:http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/productfolder.jhtml?genericPartNumber=INA103 Look At the data sheets. It will tell you all you need to know.Rowan Quote
uclaros Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 Hey Rowan, Can you share your design of the mic pre,?cause i read the data sheet but since I'm preety noob.... Quote
Rowan Posted August 18, 2003 Report Posted August 18, 2003 Hi uclarosIf you download the datasheet pdf, a good simple design is featured in fig 12. I'm yet to test the design.Power supply desing is VERY important with these type of circuits because any fluctations in the supply voltage will be imposed on the audio output of the op amp. When I get a chance I'll test it. I plan on intergrating these Mic pre's into the matrix I'm developing.Rowan Quote
