MrG{UK} Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 hey all!! have a project in the pipeline that requires integration into a DAW of some nature, but am lacking in the knowledge required to understand the processes required and steps needed to take digital control messages from a DIY 3rd party software into a DAW. I know the typical method is via MIDI Protocol, but would love to build a rudimentary HUI emulator as to facilitate finer control. i would prefer to use pro-tools as the DAW, with Logic as the optional fallback if thats not possible. would love a chat with anyone with relevant knowledge in any fields pertaining to this. this is for a degree level academic project. ohh btw... Areas im also looking into to really do this project justice are: High Precision Linear Slide Potentiometers 100mm or larger (preferably larger) Small scale ADC converters up to 24bit, single channel (not for audio fidelity) Microcontroller boards (BSC/Arduino/PIC) Ethernet shields (Xport/WizNet/Rabbit) Pure Data or pd for short (program to be used for networking/data handling) If anyone has experience in these fields please get in touch! cheers! :) Graham
