LCD connection problems

Hi All,

I've got an Optrex 16433-CEM LCD fo 10$ :) and I don't know how to connect it can you help me?  I have connected pins except these:

No. Symbol Level Function

1 VSS - Power Supply (0V, GND)

2 VCC - Power Supply for Logic

3 VEE - Power Supply for LCD Drive

4 RS H / L Register Select Signal

5 R/W H / L Read/Write Select Signal H : Read L : Write

6 E H / L Enable Signal (No pull-up Resister)

7 DB0 H / L Data Bus Line / Non-connection at 4-bit operation

8 DB1 H / L Data Bus Line / Non-connection at 4-bit operation

9 DB2 H / L Data Bus Line / Non-connection at 4-bit operation

10 DB3 H / L Data Bus Line / Non-connection at 4-bit operation

11 DB4 H / L Data Bus Line

12 DB5 H / L Data Bus Line

13 DB6 H / L Data Bus Line

And how should I connect that backlight thingy ??? I don't even know what backlight type is it. And witch side should be on top?  It looks that silver side should be on top  as its pins then are in right direction to fit there.

huummm I can't wee why you didn't wire all the connector?

VCC -> Vd and VEE->V0

fir the backlight : Where did you get it pleasE?????? I'm very interested in that!!!! and is it a led backlight? of ot's EL backlight you'll need a converter...

No it's an inverter for lighting EL plates and wires. I found everything except the transformer. Who can help me building an EL inverter  or I'm only with EL here??? And what should display my LCD when it's connected with core without PIC?

Yeah Pilo; Im sure I have seen somewhere a circuit from a disposable camera used to do this job I think it was in a magizine; they were talking about going to photo-labs to get the old camera cases, pull the circuit board out make one small mod and you had an inverter ???

Cant remember which publication tho!
