I have connected pins except these:Display datasheetNo. Symbol Level Function1 VSS - Power Supply (0V, GND)2 VCC - Power Supply for Logic3 VEE - Power Supply for LCD Drive4 RS H / L Register Select Signal5 R/W H / L Read/Write Select Signal H : Read L : Write6 E H / L Enable Signal (No pull-up Resister)7 DB0 H / L Data Bus Line / Non-connection at 4-bit operation8 DB1 H / L Data Bus Line / Non-connection at 4-bit operation9 DB2 H / L Data Bus Line / Non-connection at 4-bit operation10 DB3 H / L Data Bus Line / Non-connection at 4-bit operation11 DB4 H / L Data Bus Line12 DB5 H / L Data Bus Line13 DB6 H / L Data Bus Line14 DB7 H / L Data Bus Line15 EL - Power Supply for EL16 EL - Power Supply for ELCore LCD pinsD7D6D5D4D3D2D1D0ERWRSV0VsVdB+B-And how should I connect that backlight thingy ??? I don't even know what backlight type is it. And witch side should be on top? It looks that silver side should be on top as its pins then are in right direction to fit there. pilo Posted August 22, 2003 Report Share Posted August 22, 2003 huummm I can't wee why you didn't wire all the connector?VCC -> Vd and VEE->V0fir the backlight : Where did you get it pleasE?????? I'm very interested in that!!!! and is it a led backlight? of ot's EL backlight you'll need a converter... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
smashtv Posted August 22, 2003 Report Share Posted August 22, 2003 That's an EL backlight. The white side is probably the light up side, and you do need a convertor to drive it. Have fun!Smash Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest domas Posted August 25, 2003 Report Share Posted August 25, 2003 No it's an inverter for lighting EL plates and wires. I found everything except the transformer. Who can help me building an EL inverter or I'm only with EL here??? And what should display my LCD when it's connected with core without PIC? Thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

LO Posted September 3, 2003 Report Share Posted September 3, 2003 Yeah Pilo; Im sure I have seen somewhere a circuit from a disposable camera used to do this job I think it was in a magizine; they were talking about going to photo-labs to get the old camera cases, pull the circuit board out make one small mod and you had an inverter ???Cant remember which publication tho!
