Rimfrost
Hi, It would be really nice if someone could point me in the right direction to my problem. I got some problem with my lcd on my MB-6582, suddenly it only displays black boxes. What to do? Could it be something on the basebord i need to fix? Or is it time to buy a new display? I have built the baseboard and cs and everything have been working good. Voltage checking, OK. Testtone, OK Uploading mios, OK Playing some nice sounds, OK. Startup sound is working. I have tested it with another lcd, same thing there. ( that one could be broken, last time i tested it was a year ago ) I use a c64 psu and it works good, and tested the voltage on the baseboard again and everything looks good. I appreciate all the help i can get, Thanks /Rimfrost Edited July 23, 2011 by Rimfrost
nebula
did you try adjusting the contrast pot? failing that, maybe you could try plugging your lcd into a different core.
Rimfrost
thanks for your reply nebula. I have now tried all cores and adjusting the contrast pot, the lcd is working on core 3-4 and black boxes on core 1-2. So it seams so be something wrong on core 1-2, i will look in to it later. Rimfrost
After taking a good look at the baseboard i found that 2 of the crystals were broken, brown/black stuff under them. Replaced one for a little test and now it's working :) But i don't know why they broke, does anyone have a clue?
Hawkeye
Hi, maybe you overheated them during the soldering stage?
