peterpressure Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 (edited) I know the MBHP CORE LPC17 build guide mentions this, but I just wanted to confirm. http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp_core_lpc17.html The pinning of the 2x8 LCD connectors J15A and J15B is mirrored to simplify the cabling of common 2x20 and 2x40 displays (and partly due to historical reasons - it's originated from the so called "UltraPCB"). Note also that in difference to the MBHP_CORE_STM32 module, the J15 ports have been rotaed by 180 degrees! But the polarity is the same, which means that you can re-use the LCD cables which you made for the MBHP_CORE_STM32 module. What exact orientation does my J15 header go in? Pin 1 is bottom right on the PCB from SmashTV, but the header itself says Pin 1 is bottom left if the keying is facing down. See picture below: Almost done with my first core!!! TK. Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Pin 1 of J15 (Vs) goes to Pin 1 of the LCD (pin is typically named Vss) See also this datasheet for comparison: http://www.reichelt.de/index.html?;ACTION=7;LA=3;OPEN=0;INDEX=0;FILENAME=A500%252FLCD202a_Serie%2523DIS.pdf;SID=15vo22oqwQAQ8AAAh4G6Efffe41de1baa00d31b6190feb346e108 Best Regards, thorsten. peterpressure Posted January 26, 2012 Author Report Posted January 26, 2012 Awesome, that makes perfect sense. Thanks TK! Just need to order a screen and attach my ARM board and I am complete! Quote
