Hey everyone,

I'm working on my second sammichSID build (rev. 3), but am having trouble with this one.

I can't seem to get it to power up. I've tested J2 (and every other 5 volt source), but am getting a zero reading when it's plugged in. I tested the board before populating and everything was cool. I'm using the same 12 volt, 500 ma, tip positive power supply I've been using for my successfully completed Sammich.

I've double-checked all of the resister value placements and capacitor orientations and re-heated all of my solder joints, but still no luck.

Any ideas on what to do next?

Thanks in advance!

-Brandon

I should add: The only real variable I can think of, between this build and my last, is the 2 top-outer arms of the rocker switch being cut off (which I did). Could this somehow be preventing my Sammich from turning on ?

If you get no voltage at all you have a problem in the PSU section. Trace every trace with a continuity tester from the DC socket through the rectifier to the voltage regulators. If that's all goo, you simply forgot to turn the switch on :)

Thanks for the reply nILS. I'm a little green when it comes to checking any of the other traces and pads, outside of what's spelled out in the manual. It seems that I'm now getting some juice, but not as much as I need.

Most of the 5 volt sources are giving out 1.6 volts, the 9 volt sources are giving out 5, and the 12 volts are giving out 10. 7 volts. Everything looks soldered correctly in the psu section. Can you give me some pointers on any specific pads to check for continuity between?
