Hi guys, I finished my sammichSID build a few days ago, and I think I busted my LCD. The backlight was already gone pretty quickly due to a badly soldered backlight trimpot, it kept flashing on and off at a certain point and it got a nasty kick I'm guessing.. When I tried to find the cause (with the help from Wilbe), I think I fried the LCD chip. I accidentally connected the B- / B+ pins with one of the pins below it and saw some weird characters appear on the screen. After that I rebooted and now I am getting nothing, just a bar of blanks on top like you would after you first install the LCD.

My question, is there someway to rule out any other causes besides broken a broken chip on the LCD? The LCD has an integrated chip right? I'm just hoping it's only the LCD. Running it headless now and it works nicely via the Java editor :)
