rogic Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 I did some price checking and this LCD 16x2 is going to cost us around 27 Euros. If I decide not to make MIDIBOX with LCD and use firmware with default enabled COM option, what will happen to 4 menu buttons? Are they going to be useless? Quote
Captain_Hastings Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 The price for the LCD seems really high... i got one (16x2 without backlight) for 15.50 euros in an electronics shop. However, if you don't use the LCD, 3 of the 4 menu buttons will be useless (i guess you could keep the snapshot button).cheers mate Quote
lemonhorse Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 just BTW:...sometimes it's helpful to work with the LCD-Display - or do you never need any bank (24256 eeprom) information? - or the state (values) of the MB64 Pots/MB64-Sequencer? Quote

I don't know actually what are the all features of MIDIBox 64, so I can't tell...:-/ if we need it. Definately we are not going to build banksticks. Quote
TK. Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 I could add an (software) option into the SysEx dump structure which disables the menu buttons and assigs them to MIDI controllers.Best Regards, Thorsten. Quote
rogic Posted October 24, 2002 Author Report Posted October 24, 2002 That would be great, thanks Quote
