smokestacksproductions
Hello, I would like to build a step display that is more than 16 steps long. Ideally it would be constructed with inexpensive LED matrix. I want to configure these in a way that I can see a very long pattern without having to page back and forth 16 steps at a time. Is it possible to configure the hardware in this manner without having to modify the firmware code? Also, would this be overly complicated to run off of the existing DOUT chain (since Wilba's CS is already using some sort of matrix pinning) or would it be easier to use the 8-bit core and BLM firmware? If anyone can clue me in as to the best way to accomplish this, I would really appreciate it!
TK.
Hi, this isn't supported by the firmware, some changes are required. Yes, a 8x8 matrix which consist of two DOUT SRs + sink driver transistors directly connected to the end of the frontpanel PCB would be sufficient Best Regards, Thorsten.
