lcpr
Midibox with analog potentiometers AND encoders, and buttons? Is there a way to do it? Seems like the encoders are just 'buttons' - right? I have a xy joystick that is analog (potentiometer) and I would like to use it along with some encoders for other functions. Is there any Midibox applilcation for encoders and analog? Can I just use Midibox64 and connect and encoder to DIN and use it like an incremental 'button' switch??? TK.
-> MIDIbox NG: http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_ng.html Can I just use Midibox64 and connect and encoder to DIN and use it like an incremental 'button' switch??? no. MIDIbox64E would allow you to use Buttons functions, encoder and pot functions. But the configuration is much more complicated (e.g. you would have to re-compile the source code) than with MIDIbox NG (configuration done in a file on SD Card) Best Regards, Thorsten. lcpr
Thanks TK. Sounds like NG would be great. Can you point me to the information on how the NG hooks up to the analog / DIN / DOUT. Would I need a MBHP_AINSER64 if I want to use only 8 analog inputs?
TK.
Here is the starting point: http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_ng_manual.html Yes, the usage of a MBHP_AINSER64 module is strongly recommended for best results. Of course, you could also build the circuit on a veroboard to reduce area. E.g. you could also connect the 8 pots directly to the MCP3208 - no need for a 74HC595 or 4051 multiplexers in this case. Best Regards, Thorsten.
