Guest Synthex
Hello everybody,Here is a question from an electronics-dummy.I'm trying to program the PIC 16F877 (I know, it's the OLD one, but it's good enough for me !)I'm using "JDM", "IC-Prog" and the following HEX-file:"midibox64_v101b_mbhp.hex".I replaced a line in this HEX-file just like Thorsten said.I want to use the MIDI-to-COM so i replaced this HEX-line ":1043F00" with the following line ":1043F00000000000000000000000000000001000AD" which ENABLES the MIDI-to-COM and gives an DEVICE ID ""0". So far so good ? But then IC-Prog says that my adjusted file does not contain a device ID value. I also tried DEVICE ID "1". The same thing happens in IC-prog. Is this good or bad ? Did i do something wrong here ?Thanks in advance for your response !Synthex

Guest Synthex
Hi LO,No, I haven't got an LCD yet....It's soo strange ! Programming and verifying the PIC with IC-Prog goes well. But Evertime I get that strange message. Can I correct the DEVICE ID when i have an LCD hooked on it ?
TK.
But then IC-Prog says that my adjusted file does not contain a device ID value. I also tried DEVICE ID "1". The same thing happens in IC-prog. Is this good or bad ? Did i do something wrong here ?Don't worry, another device ID is meant here which isn't essential. You can disable this dummy warning somewhere in the IC-Prog preferences.Best Regards, Thorsten.
