istel Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 hi everyone just received my pcbs, components and everything and started working. now i am at adding sockets and jumpers, but i am getting slightly confused. I've added all the jumpers - J17, J15_S and J27 (these: http://media5.rsdelivers.cataloguesolutions.com/LargeProductImages/R6813293-01.jpg) But then there is the sockets (these: http://reprap.org/mediawiki/images/a/a3/Socket-strip.jpg) which are supposed to go to J1, J2, J4A, J4B and J18 sockets. But then the problem i have is that when looking at the pictures it's very hard to see if it is sockets or jumpers at the J1, J2, J4A etc. and the picutres in the guide are so low resolution that it is impossible to see and be certain. When i then look at this picture (http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_core_lpc17_10.jpg) it's easy to see that it is a jumper and not a socket at J18. Also here http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_core_lpc17_prepare_withlink.jpg you can see jumpers at J4A and not sockets. So, what's up? I am thinking that i should trust the pictures and put jumpers at J1, J2, J4A, J4B and J18 and not the sockets. Is there an error in the guide? Or am i mixing up sockets/jumpers? Please help me get it cleared up so i can move on :) Right now i think i have to solder out some of the sockets and put in jumpers instead. Thanks and thanks^1000 for the midibox project, i am so stoked!! :) Isak
FantomXR Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 You don't need sockets on the core normally. If you want to have the LPC removable, you can put sockets under this one.
istel Posted October 22, 2013 Author Report Posted October 22, 2013 right, i figured it out i think :) thanks!
